not sure how that will help ?

same settings but just putting them in manually ?

It’s worth a go. Might also be worth seeing if extra ram voltage helps.

It should be this hard though should it. It’s frustrating when you buy something so expensive and end up become a Guinea pig on a new platform.

My last DDR4 kit would only work when I manually entered the values and added 0.01v to the voltage. This DDR5 kit is the first OC RAM kit that just worked without messing with it and I have had lots of RAM kits.

Has anyone got a link to a guide or tips for basic AM5 overclocking? MSI motherboard if that makes a difference.

I don't want to get into fiddling for that last %, just some basic settings to change to unlock a bit of potential. I've a 7600 and I've read that you can essentially remove/increase power limits to give a higher boost clock ceiling. Is that correct? Are there any power efficiency penalties in normal desktop usage?

There are about a million overclocking settings to change and I don't have time or inclination to fiddle and stability test for hours on end to find the limit of each core.

I have a Noctua D15S, so I imagine I should be OK for cooling.

I'm trying other game(s) to see if default is OK
Coild be nothing, but when I was recently looking into whether the Intel I225V Ethernet Controller was still problematic I came across a post (possibly Reddit) where someone claimed to have tracked their game crashes down to the I225V either disappearing or dropping the link down to 100Mbps and upsetting Windows. And a few other posts claiming a link between memory and I225V problems. I would need to find it again to check whether these were the latest 'B3' version, but there seem to be plenty of posts claiming it's still having problems, possibly with certain cables/switches.

It might be worthwhile using event viewer to see if there any issues being logged as it might be something else causing the instability with ram as bjmnz posted above.

Yeah I'll stick event viewer on, assuming I can find It, I'm guessing a windows program that comes with windows

Press Start, then type even viewer then click even viewer.
You should also run the following from cmd as admin:
sfc /scannow
when that has finnished
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
if errors are found:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If you can still send the CPU and board back, think at this point I would and re-order from somewhere else to make sure I did not end up getting the same back. You could be dealing with this for a long time!

Yes it`s a Windows program, right click the Windows icon in the bottom left of the task bar or as FredFlint posted above. I haven`t needed to use it for years so I can`t remember the ins and outs of using it but I found the hardest part was working out the logs and possible causes of crashes.
