*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

Did you actually read the review? Im quoting "the 7950X with avx512 on barely beats the 12900k with avx off at 56fps compared to 53. Enabling avx on the 12900k takes it up to over 70"

Lol
congrats perform similarly in whatever configuration, everyone's happy.

Or not?

impressive results not like it makes any difference in real usage but the power reduction is impressive

the leap in one generation from zen3 to zen4 is pretty impressive

Its right there in the review dude, wtf are you even arguing about????
Can you just go away. At least from the AMD threads. No one wants to hear your biased thoughts and you are being deliberateluy obtuse just to get a rise out of people. Your entitled to your opinion but you just go on and on and on. When presented with facts that prove you are not right you just twist things around and start again. To many AMD threads have been derailed by you making them impossible to read. There is lots of good information posted in these threads by good posters but it just gets lost in your BS. Please tone it back or stick to teh Intel threads

That's interesting and wets my appetite for testing when i get my 7950X, as my 5800X3D was almost double the (FPS) performance of the 12900K in Valorant, but Ryzen 7000 appears to be even faster than the 5800X3D. Valorant is super CPU limited.

So, AVX-512 is only enabled if you disable the E-cores on 12th gen CPUs (no official support), not really a selling point. Also 'some motherboards have the ability to enable it if the E-cores are disabled' - in other words, it might not work on some boards.

According to Wikipedia (and other sources), the 13th generation doesn't support AVX-512 at all:

Slightly annoyed now that I only ordered 5200MHz RAM, seems like even if you're not overclocking, the stuff to go for is 6000MHz to keep a 1:1 ratio. Bugger. That'll learn me for rushing my purchase

It will be fine, the ratio will still be 1:1 between the CPU's IMC and the DDR5.

Might be worth overclocking the frequency, if the modules allow for it.

Dont give up, most the DDR5 overclocks pretty well.

Yes 6000MHz C30 does seem sweet spot for both Ryzen and new Intel setups, I am adding more DDR5 on a daily basis, if you check the site today you will even see we now have 7200MHz kits, but I'd not recommend these for AMD.

Corsair EXPO is expected to land any day also and I am pushing for more variation in 6000MHz kits with lower latencies.

Ok great, thanks again Gibbo. If it matters, I went for the Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 PC5-41600C40 5200MHz, have you had much chance to test these yet to see if they have any headroom?
