AMD Zen 6 rumours

12 core chiplet, low latency and high frequency. Awesome

But without Intel competition AMD will take their time

Intel is getting their sht back together. The new Core Ultras are ok.
I really hope this is a sign intel at least wants to fight back, we can't go back to the dark time of intel sticking a new number at the start of a cpu name and pushing out near identical silicon

They're having a pretty good 2026 so far, although a lot of that is based on AI-related stuff. We can only hope it feeds into the consumer market.

Intel seem to like the low hanging fruit, anything that requires effort they seem to half arse e.g. there attempt at discrete GPUS

Aye seemingly they have found a way to sell chips for AI where they would usually be rejected for broken cores and not working, so they're picking up sales for their scrap.
Good for the company, not great for the consumer.
 
Id say the same but who knows what the prices will be like for components, I'd need ram as well
Best bet is to try nab certain parts when they go on sale or something at random points throughout the year like a case, PSU etc.
RAM might get lucky at some point during the year to nab a bit early as well

Weirdly or ironically AMD's Zen cores have always been very efficient. Right from the start with Zen 1 and its garbage Global Foundries 14nm it was still 2X as efficient as Intel's very mature 14nm chips.
Zen cores match and sometimes beat ARM cores for efficiency.
Its almost as if the Bulldozer era memes really really hurt AMD's feelings, it traumatized them so much the set out to create one of the most efficient semi-conductor architectures ever.

Jim Keller was responsible. Hopefully AMD still have the engineering expertise to continuing progressing and not just forcing more power for more performance, Intel style.

Yea amd chips are very efficient indeed

It’s wasn’t just Jim Keller, his role was more of frontman than nuts and bolts engineering. AMDs engineering teams have grown pretty considerably since Keller left. The guys responsible* for Zen are still there.
