AMD Delivers!

Ok so we need an actual launch now and to find out if those benchmarks only work for programs optimized to use their smart boost technology. They referenced that 25% of their performance increase is coming from their smart pre-fetch and other tech, I would guess that requires the software to be able to supply the right inputs.

It could be a system that is 5-10% faster than Skylake in specific scenarios and 15-20% slower in others.

That said, it is a really significant launch. Most people on here were suggesting they would be excited if it got anywhere north of Haswell - well it looks like they may have gone north of Skylake - that is damned impressive.

<3 lisa she was great
twitch chat pretty funny
no fps count on any of the games, either by mistake or purpose didnt look good
but the handbreak was impressive so im excited!

Supposedly to avoid false comparisons to others using different builds and drivers. Don't know if that is true or not.

I agree on that. If is not priced at £1000, even at £600 going to be way cheaper than the 6900K, at better speed on top.

For sure :D

Looking forward to this release really. Intel have been at the top and charging to much for too long. Looking really good for AMD.

Depending on price possibly be my first AMD CPU i've had in a long time.

I can imagine intel having a rather large brown brick in their pants right now.

That would be the clincher for me.

I've been trying not to think about it too much.

That's the dream, but I'd be very very surprised if that's how it played out.

No matter how it ends up, based on that, at the very least AMD have brought out viable alternatives.

But then the thing is, if they don't hit this price point they wont have a CPU with mass market appeal.

Not much will change for those in the £200 - £350 price bracket.

Unless we will see 6/12 and 4/8 core/thread CPU's from AMD to compete in the mid to lower end.

Anyone can link that zen logo to blender what can be downloaded from where? I just came back to my room. Kinda miss the info.

I'd love to read more on this predictive execution tech. I wonder if they can impliment it driver side or it has to be written into the program itself.

Ryzen looks good.

Overall an impressive, stream, not too long and just the right amount of waffle, to go with the few nice demos.

I think AMD will have a hit on their hands with Ryzen, providing the performance scales down to 4C/8T as well, which it certainly should do.

Disappointed that they didnt reveal the price as although the performance was awesome unless they tell us the price it could just be the same as intel..

but they talked about the fps counter on bf1 demo, it didnt show up on twitch
everyone screaming fake >.<

handbrake performance looked legit tho <3
and i wouldnt expect games to shine on a 8core chip with no turbo yet so *shrug*

I don't really want to rely on AMD CPU Drivers or programs getting AMD specific updates.

Can of worms if that's the case.

Yeah thats what concerns me. If it is drivers I imagine a lot of programs won't be big enough to be taken notice off and if it is programs implimenting it then we won't see any older versions of products taking advantage of it(not that I want to **** on AMDs parade just concerned).

I guess another option is some kind of cloud backend watching how programs are used and sharing the most likely process to execute next in a given sequence.

I want more info potentially an amazing tech!
