*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

£88 for the cheapest B350 is a bit disappointing considering the cheapest Z270s are £115. Was expecting more like £60, especially considering Ryzen is more SoC-like than even Kaby Lake.

True, but the B350 can be used for overclocking unlike the B250 motherboards.

You need to realise the B350 is equivalent to the 970 series on AM3+ and the decentish ones at launch on AM3+ were more like £70 to £80ish when we had better exchange rates.

I was going to order the asus ROG crosshair motherboard but i received my Noctua NM-AM4 fitting kit to use with my noctua nh-d15s but looking at the kit, i dont think it will fit around the cpu socket correctly, there are some capacitors very close to the cpu socket and i think it will interfere with the fitting kit.

Found interesting important information from other forum warned about Ryzen very poor OC on both air and water coolers.

Also found this pic of Ryzen 1800X with all 8 cores on LN2 reached 5.1GHz at 1.853V from Austin Evans on youtube but it was removed so I found a mirror. http://mirror.ninja/5vixv8

Well 5.1GHz on LN2 at very high voltage is not very impressed, I would suggest you to put off or cancel pre-order until official reviews or you would regret sold off your good CPUs like 6700K, 7700K etc after bought a Ryzen CPU and found it cant OC at very low voltage on both air and water coolers!
