AM4 will be a great platform to be on going forward too, we should get a whole bunch of upgrade options over the next few years.

My system is running great, gaming, progs. Tis awesome, 8core/16thread CPU and Mobo for just over £400. Can't complain at that price.

Doomers keep saying that a 7700K gets extra FPS in gaming VS the Ryzen chips, but the 7700K gets extra FPS VS Intel's own 6/8/10 core chips too? They forget that bit xD

Oh yeah let's not focus on AMD destroying Intel's high end everywhere else at cheaper prices and lower TDP, let's focus on those few FPS in gaming..

We all love gaming at 250 FPS on a 720P display right? :D

Got my 1700, GTX 1080 Ti soon, now I just need my 250FPS, 720P Display :D

CPUZ bench so much fun playing it.

No, you can only play games on Intel's quad cores remember. Remember to set to 720P and aim for 250FPS low graphical settings. That's the only way to play games.

We must all remember Synthetics, real world programs situations. Benchmarks, workstation and pricing oh and TDP stuff are irrelevant, Intel wins at 720P at that is the ONLY thing that counts.

I want to do a clean format with this new build, not sure which OS to put on..

Until Windows 10 gets updates to better support Ryzen is it worth going back to Windows 7?

Context here >> http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-performance-negatively-affected-windows-10-scheduler-bug/

Unfortunately the scheduler currently is not able to differentiate principal core threads from virtual SMT threads with Ryzen and in fact sees 16 thread Ryzen 7 processors as processors with 16 physical cores with equal resources per thread.

Because it does not give any preferential prioritization of scheduling tasks to primary threads over SMT threads like it does on Intel platforms, a massively larger percentage of tasks can and do end up getting scheduled for a virtual SMT thread rather than a principal core thread. Resulting in significant artificial performance degradation.

Looking forward to the Ryzen APU's. Am def going to put a lil build with an APU together, Ideal for the kids. Now the CPU side is strong alongside GPU. Will be interesting to see how the APU can handle 1080P. Guess these will be a while though. AMD busy pumping out millions of console chips alongside all the new desktop launch products.

The latest Ryzen chipset drivers have def given my system a bump. The default Ryzen balanced profile gives crazy performance. R7 1700 stomping on an Intel 6950 X in some synthetics tests. These chips are very good value for money.

Man this Zen chip ia a beaut. Tops out around 40C under an AIO. Blisteringly fast, multitasking is a breeze. Combined with a GTX 1080 Ti, this is the best all round PC I have used. Who would have thought, AMD + Nvidia ftw xD

Raven will really shake up the market. Intel IGP will be trounced once again. Budget builds may not even need a GPU anymore.

Agreed, AMD now have the CPU horsepower to match a decent IGPU. The Zen APU's could be very good for budget builders and HTPC's. I imagine not even needing a DGPU for the lower tier at all.
