Oh nvidia, this driver superiority you claim about is slipping fast. Vega looks promising right now.
Until Nvidia (hopefully) pull their finger out and fix it. IF they can fix it, rather than offloading it to the CPU.
In some ways, when you think about it, I find it amazing that Nvidia offloading work so much to the CPU is accepted as OK. I mean, it works clearly... but now it 'seems' to be having an impact when DX12 is coming into heavy usage. Maybe their hardware isn't really as powerful as it seems to be.

I hope AMD have Vega's launch drivers as perfect as possible; they really need every little edge they can to make their products shine.
It'll work, but you'll get No Windows updates at all, which means you might not have any updates from the last year or two.
I don't think it'll be recommended really.

Nah, it's just DX11 hardware for a DX11 era. There are a sprinkling of DX12 games out there but I wouldn't say we are in the DX12 age yet.
I fully expect the next Nvidia series to be from the ground up fully DX12 cards with vastly imporved if not rewritten DX12 drivers.
We already know they are working on it as the clue was the mini 'DX 12 performance drivers' they release last month.

Me personally I want to pair my Ryzen with a card now. And it seems Vega will be that card. Better DX12 and Vulkan performance as well as complimentary to Ryzen CPU's.
The 1070... at £400 is shockingly expensive. The card should have launched at little over £300.
I thought Nvidia always had the advantage with DX9/10/11 due to lower CPU overhead? What's going on.

I don't see Nvidia coming out and saying anything about driver issues with Ryzen and DX12 as it would affect sales. They cant do anything about it anyway as the 1000 series are not DX12 native cards.

Thanks for that, that makes a lot of sense, so basically needs Nvidia to update their software scheduler to better understand Ryzen and hopefully avoid shifting too much workload from one CCX to the other.

I find both my toma boards fine with the 1700's
