Got the ASRock Taichi with Team Group Dark Pro 3200. Unfortunately it seems the current batch of this ram is sk hynix, not Samsung, so I'm stuck at 2400mhz at the moment!

Id sent them back and look for samsung B ones...
Thats why i sent 3 other kits back cause ware supposed to be Samsungs and turned out Hynix so **** that

Sweet that's what I am waiting for. Ryzen although performing very well is not a big enough leap for what I currently need over my i5, providing it's a reasonable performance increase I will be getting one.

For now I will continue to observe and practice some patience.

Hoping for a frequency bump if nothing more.

Likely the 2 main things they'll be targeting are clockspeed and Infinity fabric bandwidth/latency (either through design tweaks or simply much better RAM support).

Even just achieving 4.5 GHz + 3866 MHz RAM support would be a significant improvement over 3.9 GHz and 2933 MHz RAM (which seems to be the average atm). And that's assuming no improvements in any other area.

Not really - probably ideal for the same sort of thing why some server boards have onboard sdcard slots or internal usb ports for flash drives.
TBH I would have preferred the SD card or USB option, better price per GB and nowhere near the heat soak.

The board isn't exactly aimed at ITX cases so there will be room for drives.

I do believe the Zen refresh will still be 14nm but obviously a refined process. By all accounts the yield is particularly good at the moment. "Zen 2" is destine for 7nm

My bad then, but tape out for 7nm was confirmed as the end of this year by Lisa Su yesterday, so refinement for Zen 2 must be a 12 month exercise, where does that put Zen+ then?
