This is a great news and much more like it, like it should be.

The Raven Ridge chips look ideal for a good cheapish build..
Have got a cheap decent kingston SSD for £28, corsair tx650m for 58 quid.. CPU's should be priced well but that's where it ends with the stupid DDR4 pricing.

And really decent notebooks, too.
GPU prices are the terrible. RAM pricing stays stable, at least doesn't go anywhere worse......
Oh look, exactly what the numbers suggested. Isn't maths wonderful?Ryzen 5 2400G With Vega 11 iGPU On Par With RX 550 and GT 1030 GPUs
Snip.
Argus upgrades AMD (NASDAQ:AMD) from Hold to Buy with an $18 price target, a 31% upside on yesterday’s closing price.

I usually don't buy the fast RAM and cooling argument since by the time you spend £50 on custom cooling and £50+ on faster RAM you may as well have bought a separate (and faster) GPU. Right now GPU prices are so bad that it has more merit though, plus of course you're looking for a low-TDP tiny-case setup it might make sense to stick with the IGP.LOL - Not too far wrong, only there is that wonderful graph AMD put together showing a pretty impressive uplift in performance is possible with the stock cooler and fast ram, which if true will make a lot more games playable at 1080p.
As a technical achievement the A12 9800 is the direct predecessor to this chip... and it looks like it is going to be close to twice as powerful on the GPU and it has a CPU that can actually deliver as well.
I don't disagree entirely, I think the RAM I have is 2400 ( the ram I have for this build has been sitting on a shelf for 4 months... it might be 2800...) to put in because it is all I could afford at the time - and I will certainly be using the stock cooler on day one.... It is going to be very interesting to see if I can squeeze a bit more speed out of the ram and GPU on both and will certainly let you know.I usually don't buy the fast RAM and cooling argument since by the time you spend £50 on custom cooling and £50+ on faster RAM you may as well have bought a separate (and faster) GPU. I haven't seen any marketing saying that the new APUs are HSA compatible. Has AMD abandoned that road due to lack of interest from developers?

Yeah, i think they have, and its a shame because when implemented the performance boost was massive, even compared to Intel's performance AMD running HSA was multiple factors faster.
