You are contradicting yourself.

And then....

CB15 single thread results show when CPU's are clocked at 3.5ghz the 2600 is 4.1% behind coffeelake.
CB15 single thread @ stock speeds show the 2600 is 16.5% behind.

You have taken one gaming test and come to the conclusion that skylake x is 10-15% behind pinnacle ridge.......
The stilt has run many, single and multicore tests and his results show a 15.6% difference in IPC.

Meh, cba with people with blinkers on. Believe what you want. The more open minded people on this forum know and respect thestilts findings over yours.

That's not a contraction, that's literally what i said. Context. Cinebench is one thing with its own IPC relevant to it, Gaming is another with IPC relevant to that.

Again that is literally what i said, The IPC in Cinebench does not represent IPC in Arma III, i think even you can agree with that, perhaps you just misunderstood what i said?

Perhaps, but we digress. We all know coffeelake is ahead, sometimes by a small amount others by large. (When talking about both CPU's having same core and thread count)
And thestilts testing shows just this. I just found it wrong how you called him an intel shill. He is far from it.

Again, ahead in what? context matters.

For example:

@4Ghz

ST Coffeelake: 174 (+3.5%)
ST Ryzen 2600: 168

MT 12T Coffeelake: 1325
MT 12T Ryzen 2600: 1384 (+4.5%)

He may not be an Intel shill but he has a lot of gaps in his knowledge and understanding.

Is it all just stock? no overclocking?

Sometimes GPU hardware acceleration can cause this, what browser, FireFox?

Check for RAM errors

SOC voltage too high or too low. It's also very likely the ASRock AB350 Pro 4 does not have good enough VRM's to support 32GB of ram, especially if it is 4 sticks of ram.

am using cheome opera and firefox

the motherboard is an msi x370 xpower gaming titanium board

think i tested for ram errors a while back using memtest only did one pass though but was all clear

Sorry, must have been looking at Humbugs rig specs lol. Still the same thought though, your mobo's VRM's are just not up to the job of running 4 sticks of ram. One pass of Memtest is next to useless as well, it tells you nothing about how stable your ram is.
HCI Memtest to about 4000% clear, indicates stable ram.

its at stock as well

not messed around with any settings in bios prob the way to go though

Are you using an nvidia GPU?
Myself and a few other had issues with nvidia drivers and ryzen on release day, we used DDU to uninstall then reinstall fresh. Problems seemed to go away then.
Oh damn, didnt notice the mobo. Try running memory at 2133 and see if it improves. Or even removing 2 sticks.

Humbug why do you keep banging the drum, back in April we talked about it.
I get your point clock for clock, but it's like you deliberately avoid the fact that intel has the headroom to scale. My guesstimate was spot on with the brick wall of zen+ voltage/frequency scaling back in April too, so you can't say I wasn't speaking realistically. End of the day Amd failed to get zen+ to the 4.5ghz target as a baseline. If they had then it would have been an impressive increase from Zen.
I'm not sure what your objective is here?

it was happening with 2 sticks of ram thought they mighty be faulty so got another 16gb to test.....tried another motherboard even sent this 1800x back to amd thinking that this cpu was faulty

the only thing i havent tried or swapped over is this gtx 670 (i know ancient) ....when i bought this rig last year i was gonna get new gpu but then the mining craze kicked off and prices went through roof

been using my gaming laptop since then

might take 2 sticks off ram out an try altering the soc setting/voltafe

but first think i will leave memtest on overnight see if it throws anything up

This sounds kind of similar to an issue I had anthony99 when my old Asus 670 GTX died some 2 years ago. I had a spare Radeon HD 4770 that I replaced it with temporarily until I bought a new card.
It started freezing my Win 10 PC very frequently whenever I used a browser and when I watched youtube videos regardless of having hardware acceleration on/off.

I’m pretty sure it was a driver issue in my case since the 4770 card has no Win 10 drivers and it worked fine in another PC with Win 7.
I couldn’t find a fix back then so I ended up using the onboard gfx on the 3570k CPU until I bought a 1070 card.
