AMD Zen3 event thread

I'm intrigued.
Hopefully it will be a good price/performance update to the 3xxx series.
Either way coming from an i3570k I'm going to see a pretty big upgrade regardless!

Looked forward this for a long time now, planned it 3 years ago.
so made all the needed upgrades and just await the new cpu

Hope you've tested the MOBO and RAM to make sure they work :p I did similar and had my MOBO waiting for 2600 launch, turned out MOBO was faulty and had to get it sent away abroad to get it fixed as the return to seller option had expired :o

I would be more worried about his graphics card :p

My 2600 is running on a b550, so should just be a simple cpu swap.
 
At least if you already have a CPU, BIOS update should be possible on any board, otherwise only those boards with a BIOS flash button will be able to be updated with no CPU, I believe.

Imagine new amd gpus were intrinsically linked to new Zen cpus. Like there was some shared architecture that benefited those who owned both. I'd love to buy into some kinda bundle like that.
