Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Waiting until I try the demo, but noticed it's available from multiple sources.

So is Gamers Gate any good? Or just stick with Direct2Drive? As they both seem to be use the same principle of not needing a client to download or play.

This is a fantastic game, it just`s keeps you aware of your surroundings ( i.e where the closet is.. LOL!!):D as you can`t rely on weapons but only your wits to keep away from having your face ripped off.

Got it and am thouroughly enjoying it.
My view on the weak sales is that as a game it's too quality and non-twitchy for a mass market.
Needs seriously dumbing down to be a success.

My experience with this game today:

**** POTENTIAL SPOILERS ****
**************** READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ****************

I was walking through a corridor and suddenly I black out then it's filled with water when I open my eyes again. I hear something around the corner making a splash noise in the water and then I see the water splashes coming towards me. There's something in the water. I run and jump on a crate and it comes towards me then the water stops moving. I jump on another crate and it splashes as I jump then stops again. It is following me.

I keep jumping on objects and running small distances to avoid it and then I get to part where there is a dead body and I throw the arm in the water. The water splashes go towards it and then suddenly it goes under and blood splashes out of the water. It was eating it.

So I use that as a distraction to run further, then I get to a door with a wheel that needs to be turned to open it... but it was in the water. I have to rush to turn it while the thing is eating the arm. The door opens really slowly and I hear the thing growling and some splashes coming towards me. It finally opens and I go through and jump onto a box, safe for now.

Then I get through into a new area and I think I've got away from it. I start walking and as soon as I get around the corner I hear it again and splashes coming from behind me. I don't dare look back and start running. There are no boxes or objects in sight to jump on and I'm franticly searching for something to get on, I'm in panic mode. I find a small box and try to jump on it but keep missing because I'm so scared and it's right behind me.

I managed to jump on it but since it's so small the thing smashes through it and hits me and makes me bleed. At this point I almost screamed in real life LOL. I run for my life again and jump over some small objects blocking the water which slowed it down a bit. But as I kept running I hear it smashing through and quickly getting closer and closer to me. My heart is pounding. I was like "omg omg omg". There was nothing big enough to jump on I had to keep on running and trying to slow it down.

Eventually I get to a big door that leads out of the water and I take a big sigh of relief.

Well finally got to buy this.

And dear lord, I'm pretty much wetting myself already.

I was just dandering through, pick up a heal pot, turn around and there just a guy standing there then disappears as I didn't stare too long. This was in the wine cellar. Buh! The atmosphere is perfect, the super blurring is a little bit annoying but it's not there for convienence sake. :p

Every little corner is just making me more tense and then I hear grumbling.

I was in the main hall at one point and I was sure I heard one of them play the piano, that got me going too. :(

This game's music is absolutely brilliant i think for the setting of the game it really suits it well.I am in the storage room now, liking the game a lot so far and i have to say it looks better than people say at least on maxed settings except for SSAO resolution which i have at 32.

This is pretty much the scariest game ever made...especially when played on large screens in the dark with headphones.

I even bought audio-technicas ad500 plus asus xonar for this game (wanted to have the best possible experience given my budget) and damn, now I cannot force myself to finish it :D

Got halfway through, but it is so unnerving that I am afraid to go back to it.
