I owned a Vic-20 and then went on to the C64. I also remember using the BBC micro at school.

My favourite has to be the c64 though and Kevin Toms football manager was my first footy game :D

Also loved playing the Jeff Minter games like Attack of the mutant camels, and revenge of the mutant camels :D

This thread is making me feel old :(

C64, hands down. No question.

My second computer (I started with a VIC-20 and we had BBCs at school).

Only had a BBC, so voted for that.

Amiga 500+ was awesome though, my mate had one, so many great games.

Only one of my friends used an Amstrad, had this dull green screen, thought it was utter crap.

Had the Spectrum 48K+ for a number of years - probally best game for me was the Dizzy series, then switched to a Commodore 64 which was better - favorite game Last Ninja 2.

That was the only problem, if your dad bought you one with the green screen.

I had the colour one, hardware wise for the time, it was hugely more powerful than the C64, with a whopping 4Mhz CPU and able to display 27 colours at a time as opposed to the C64s 16.

I trained as a programmer on both the C64 and BBC micro. The Commodore was very suited to MC with registry pokes iirc. Great fun. i still have the C64 packed away at my parents house..

The game I most recall is the hobbit..

"Look East".. "Can't look east"
"Look West".. "Can't look West"
"Look North".. "Can't look North"
"Look South".. "Can't look South"

agghhh

Dies anyone else remember the VIC 20 Scott Adams adventure games released under his company Adventure International? e.g. Pirate Adventure, The Count, Voodoo Castle, etc.

Where is the fabulous Amiga in this travesty of a poll?!

The Amiga was not included in the dominated era of the 8bit

I'm not sure how the c64 and such can be called "travesty", besides you can thank Commodore of the C64 for helping the Amiga ;)

Did you know that Commodore payed Atari to clean out the Debt owed by the Amiga?

Owned them all but I would say:-

1. C64 (Better gfx and sound than 2.)
2. ZX Spectrum (Attribute clash and poor sound pushes it into 2, still my favourite)
3. Amstrad CPC (Good machine but a bit bland)
4. BBC B (Apart from Elite games were pretty poor, good BASIC though)

HEADRAT

Pretty much this

As it is you, and I didn't even read the OP, I'll let you off!

ZX Spectrum will also hold a dear place in my heart, was my 1st computer, but then I got a 2nd hand C64 with a floppy drive and a crap ton of games.

C64 was just miles better, though sometimes on quiet nights when I'm all alone, I go to youtube and listen to the Speccy loading screen.

Can't comment about the other 2, never owned or played on them.

I had the Amstrad but most games looked better on my mates C64. There was the odd game that was better on Amstrad but not many. I always thought spectrums looked much worse but that's what most people had.
