STEAM problem

In all steam games, when the game is loaded up. Trying to set controls it doesn't matter what key on the keyboard I press it goes down as shift.

Has anyone had this problem before or does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Majik.

Refund from Steam on DLC that won't download.

I'm trying to get a refund for the Fable 3 DLC (both quest packs). The problem is that I put in the code and it brings up a blank template for the DLC (doesn't even say what it is that I'm trying to download) then after trying to load, brings up an error message.

I'm trying to get it sorted and they've been cheeky enough to offer me a "one-time customer service gesture" of store credit for it.

Obviously it's one thing if my computer couldn't run it, but it's the actual download that's the problem so I'm trying to dispute it on the grounds that the item I've paid for hasn't been provided. I wouldn't even mind the credit, but that they're trying to make it a one time gesture when the problem's with the download, not the game is silly.

Anyone got any experience in this?

Yeah, unfortunately "UK Law" does not actually cover digitally purchases software. There is actually nothing in the DSR about it.

Also you say you "entered the code", did you actually buy the DLC from steam?

I would think you would be talking to support about getting the problem fixed rather than asking for a refund right off the bat.

isn't the fable 3 GFWL and the code needs to be put in that plus you can download it off that as well

Yeah, this.

I bought the DLC from Steam and had to put the code in in GFWL (which is where it didn't work).

As with all things, it's the seller's responsibility which is why I've gone to steam.

Also I didn't go straight for a refund, my original ticket I asked for them to either make it possible for me to access it or give a refund.

I don't think I've been unfair, I bought the DLC on the first, tried to put in the code over the next week-ish (thought it might be the xmas rush) and then made the ticket asking for either a fix or for it to be fixed. So far I've had various emails telling me to screenshot it, make sure the code was right, download GFWL again etc and only after about 10 days did I actually get an offer of store credit.

I understand some people do try to pull fast ones or their computer can't handle the game they've bought (which is their fault for not checking, Steam understandably don't want to take the hit for that) but this is genuinely that I can't access the content.

My brother used my mothers card to buy £173 worth of TF2 cosmetics. (what a ***)

Anyway, i managed to get them to refund all of that.

I pulled the old "purchased without permission" stuff. and that if we dont get the money back. We'll just get the bank to reverse the charge. Locking the account and thus preventing any further steam purchases in future.

(didnt word it quite like that :P) I was polite and explained it. Despite the initial copy and paste answer of "we dont do refunds" they were accommodating once i pushed a bit harder.
