An Observation on GD

It's the Summer holidays.
School holidays != quality GD threads.

I was wondering where all the really good threads had gone too.

Typical GD response : It's either the fault of Muslims, Immigrants or The Gays, tbh.

There are interesting and thought-provoking threads but they're really quite rare. I like some nonsense as much as the next man but it gets a bit weary at times. Still, lots of other forums on the intarnets :)

Actually the typical GD response is that, basically someone saying "oh someones going to say its the Muslims etc" And you know what it's even more ****ing annoying than when someone actually says it's the Muslims...

The phrases "quick, to the internetz", "kill it with fire", "nuke from orbit", "punch her in the face" should be added to the banned list imho.

I agree. Although I am partial to "punch her in the face" but only if the context makes it funny - for example if it follows numerous serious replies. Largely though, these generic 'funny' replies are downright boring.

Re El Razur, Although he did talk rubbish, he did on occasion create some worthwhile threads and points of discussion. Underrated I think, but he did talk some tripe too.

*Dont ban me* *Hides*

At least El Razur had a different perspective on a lot of things thus creating discussion.

I'd much rather a little incorrect or controversial opinion rather than people ruining threads ad infinitum.

SC isn't "very intelligent" discussion very often. It's just people who can be bothered to write the longest posts with the best layout look correct.

But isn't that one of the problems with GD? people not putting in effort and just putting stupid things like tl;dr?

Burnsy

It seems that the "cool" thing to do at the moment is just post complete trash in every thread, rather than just the silly ones. As others have said though, post quality always takes a nose dive while the kids are off on holiday.

There's plenty of regulars who derail threads too. The discrepency in sense of humour and understanding doesn't help either. It's partly the medium and an internet forum doesn't communicate emotion very well, other times it's just plain rudeness.

People this is the nature of sticking a lot of different humans in the same place and seeing what happens. History teaches us that it never ends well!

To be honest I really can't see why you're surprised that each and every post isn't of the highest intellectual standard and whinging about it is just as retarded as the people making stupid posts.
