And boomers wonder why millennials are bitter towards them..

Then buy a house that isn't plastered and go without or DIY... no one is forcing you to buy a house that's finished!

Of course in reality, you're barely going to save anything, the few hundred £ extra it costs to plaster the walls pales into insignificance compared to everything else when it comes to the cost of the house. As already mentioned by Greebo above, the cost of the plot is going to be one of the biggest factors.

Anyway, I give up. Good luck finding anyone that's bothered to actually go to college/university in your communist utopia where everyone gets paid the same regardless of skills or experience. How much a plasterer costs is going to be the least of your worries when you get sick or injured and there are no doctors.

Communism doesn't work. People are greedy and selfish by design.

No way I'd be doing a skilled job for same moneys as low skill job

Give me a house cheaper with the roof plastered and what else needs to be done? You do not need to plaster a brick wall i seen it on hipster videos of thier flats and even bare brick seems to be trendy. Thats just one trade that was the context of my post house prices being gouged for luxury and to keep people employed. Housing is a right not a luxury or job creator so they can take home way way above average wages.

Just so I'm clear, you're suggesting that plastering a wall is a luxury that was invented to keep people employed?

What if you want a house that has electric sockets, light switches, central heating, etc? Do you just trail all the cables and pipes along the floor?

I'm nearing the final stages of buying my first house now. It is pretty sickening to think what it would have cost just 15 years ago compared to what I've paid, but there you have it.

I expect we'll now see the most dramatic decrease in house prices since records began.

Please stop this low iq nonsense i had to log in because you are tarnishing my name by linking me this made up crap you spouted out of your own imagination and inability to read. Plastering was invented because in better days people wanted plastered walls and luxurys and while nice i was talking about an affordable home one i would like to buy at a cheap price and cut corners!

I despise my central heating it needs replaced again and oil is a crappy smelly product so no i do not eant central heating apart from the water so run the pipe for that up the bathroom wall and in under the floor from the boiler outside.

And put the electric plugs on the floor, Run the cable under the floor. And i go no particular gripe with any trademan either again stop the nonsense i just want a cheap home not forced to buy one that everyone else gets to decide how much it costs because they put in excess luxury.

Well since plastering walls has been around since 7500BC I seriously doubt your assertion.

Did i assert Romans did not plaster walls? Did Romans have our housing problem? Again a sub forum full of bitter people who waste time putting words in peoples mouths.

No you asserted that plastering "was invented because in better days people wanted plastered walls and luxurys" and that is false. 7500BC isn't "better times" and plastering walls was well before the Romans. Even the name "gypsum" which is Greek for "daub on" should give you a clue that it pre dates Romans. In fact Egyptians used plaster.

And you know why? It came about to seal the walls from the elements and keep insects out. Hardly a "luxury"

Is it false? It is not false because how can my opinion be false smartass. Did they back in 7500bc gouge and have a BTL culture? They were better days actually fyi in Egypt there was no real slave culture and everyone had a home and a farming plot.

Just because standards inproved you think today is better days not with housing entitlement it isnt. Today is a complete parasite system compared to ancient times.

Also @MikeTheNative Do shut up man and learn to read.

Actually @MikeTheNative i put you on ignore as a filter just for one line stupidity and baits that waste time. Right up there in useless posts with Stockhausen.

Had a chuckle though why you think on a new build they use 70's bricks, Do not reply i will not see it lol...

A crash is coming its inevitable, with the current pandemic and governments around the world literally printing money to pay for it, jobs are going by the thousands on a daily basis with even more to follow in the next few months. There will be an influx of reposessions, pushing the prices down further as the supply increases exponentially.
