I dunno, I suppose I may have read certain posts with a bit more angst than was present. I just hate the PC superiority complex that goes on all too often.

I mean several posts in, there was mention of this being used during a PC vs console debate. Over spec'd consoles are nothing new.

And console owners and users are aware hardware in PCs will trounce a consoles. They just dont care!

Anyone who uses the OP as tools for debate are deluded. The only realistic mention I've seen of hardware for a future console was in the CPU section, and its rumored that a future console will be sporting an a10 which opens the door for hybrid crossfire.

That thread was jumped on by PC elitists, seeing it as "not a major step" Idiots basically. As they were doing their usual job of looking at things from a PC aspect.

I just get annoyed at the them and us attitudes. And I may have looked too far into certain comments.

But yeah, Meh.
 
All I see is people showing how utterly ridiculous the article is. If it's going to claim it has a CPU faster than any gaming PC then of course PC gamers are going to tear it to shreds.
 
Honestly that article is pathetic. Its an amalgamation of various rumours that have been around for years and that includes the nov. 2013 release date (not certain why DG thinks that was his invention?)

As far as cpu/gpu power goes I think the usual applies. Its going to be significantly more powerful than its predecessor, as it should be as its ancient tech, but comparing the raw power to a modern PC it just daft. It will offer significantly better (looking) games than the current 360, hell with any luck some may not need modding by third parties to take advantage of pc's...

On another note if they move the way some rumours have suggested where the xbox will act as a hub and not just a games machine I might be interested. Sort of a decent AV / games console all in one :)

My concern is not how the next gen consoles will perform relative to pc's but to this gen consoles. Would be great, next gen next november but I reckon 2014/2015 is more likely.
 
I hope you realize that they designed the xbox specs a few years back (ie business plan/prototype/testing/dev kits/production).

xbox don't decide on which cpu or gpu they put in 3 weeks before launch thus by the time the thing rolls out of the factory it is already surpassed by latest tech.

and no way I will be an early adopter this time around, I got burned with both the xenon and the phat. this time I will wait for the improved versions once they solve the teething issues, and cheaper as another + :) I wont be a guinea pig again

I am glad you will be doing the testing for me this time around ;)

Why are some people making a big deal about the naming of the console? Calling it the Xbox makes perfect sense, you walk into a shop and ask for the newest Xbox, there's no room for confusion that way either. They can't call it the Xbox 3 when it's on display next to a Playstation 4, and they can't call it an Xbox 720 because frankly that makes no sense and was always a retarded suggestion. What else are they going to call it? They could call it the Xbox "something" but what's the point?

It's a shame consoles don't have upgradable memory, cpu and gfx
