Andor (Star Wars)

You are clearly watching a different show to me.

Not everything needs to be an attention grabbing tik tok, there is absolutely a place for long form story telling which is what this is.

The episodes are only 30 mins or so once you cut the intro sequence and the credits.
Spot on - this is Star Wars for folks with an attention span.

I'm enjoying it I think its leagues better than Obi Wan and Boba, as soon as this season finishes I'm jumping straight into Rogue One

Then I'm cancelling my Disney+ subscription because cost of living.

You can get it now and again on offer. Think I paid £22 for a years sub. (Though I barely watch it outside of the Starwars shows/Marvel/the odd new movie)

This. I bought one of those Samsung vouchers, before that I would dip in for a month at a time. This way is much better and worth the less than £2 per month.

I'm enjoying this. Feels a bit stretched out but even the filler episodes are stlll quite entertaining. I wish the sequel trilogy had adopted a similar tone.

A little bit too drawn out but this kind of approach to Star Wars is vastly better than the likes of recent sequels. From what I can gather Andor seems to draw heavily from the original material for Rogue One which got reshot for being too "war documentary".

Thought the latest episode was brilliant. Had goosebumps just seeing

tie fighters lift off with the pilots

Fantastic episode, real pay-off on the strands that have developed so far. And that's just the mid-season high. Anyone else find themselves sympathising with the imperials quite a lot? That chap in the tower who figured out what was going and rallied the troops could have been the hero in another show. Which is cool, but also kind of detracts from the moral simplicity of the main Star Wars arc.

the imperial officer that got killed for demanding to stop threatening the kid. Like you say in another time and place a heroic act.

It was a great episode.

I think that is one aspect they needed to work on a bit more - I know most people will be aware of the larger story of Star Wars but it would have taken it up a notch if they'd better demonstrated the evil/oppression of the Imperial system - giving more motivation and depth to the actions of the characters including the human side on both sides of the story and why people from many different angles would become part of the rebellion.

I think there's going to be a rather large shakedown and demonstration of imperial might in the next 3 episodes.
They went a little ballistic in the intelligence agency :p
cassian, or someone was going to shoot the kid or mum to prove they meant business..

It'll be interesting to see if they take the rebellion down a darker path as well, I just caught up with the current episode but something I wasn't sure about...

It looked like Cinta was crying as she was leaving the base at the end, could that be because they succeeded the mission? Or did she just murder the room full of hostages to cover up the rebellions trail?
