Andor (Star Wars)

I mean I physically can't hear it. So it's hard to follow. It's like the background sound it's so loud I can't hear the voices. Gf said the same. Turning it up didn't work

Went back to listen to the first episode, and yeah the dialogue isn't the easiest to pick out although I'd say it's a long way from impossible to understand. It's a stylistic choice and one I quite like, it makes it feel more realistic and I like the fact they aren't mixing things to compromise with those who want to not pay attention.

Really struggled. I think I'd need to turn the centre speaker up to help it. But it's not been needed on any other show.
Its not every word. But i struggled to follow it. Missed words for sure.

Only got a few days of D+ left so probably going to give this one a miss.

Looked fairly gritty. In a positive way. But yeah sound issues on my setup.

Yeah it looks stunning on my OLED, that lightshow when they were doing the heist was pretty amazing.

I like something about the show that some people may not... Thats its not that Star Wars-ey... Its rare that you see other aliens (So far), you dont see run of the mill Star Wars ships that often (And i have to say some of those scenes have been gorgeous like the tie fighters come out of the hanger) and the dialogue and story are gritty and dark that pull no punches on people dying for the rebellion.

For people complaining about sound and dialogue. Disney+ has broken audio output (yet again!!! particularly Atmos) for most app versions aside from the ATV, all Android TV users (Sony, Philips, Shield etc.) and also Android derivatives (Amazon devices) are affected, Many LG users are starting to say they are affected and some Samsung as well. For a lot of people the best audio they are getting is Stereo PCM and if lucky in some cases DD5.1 may kick in. Disney say they are aware and looking for a fix.

Was waiting for the episode this part was in, was nearby when they filmed it, have walked down the Promenade there many times.

It is one aspect that I'm a bit on the fence on - there are loads of bits where the horizontal sections i.e. walkways (Barbican especially as mentioned above) and bridges are from real, UK based, places, but then they've added in CGI vertical architecture and backdrops - but I still recognise the real bits from either being passingly familiar with the location or seeing it used in other movies as it is in real life, etc.

Yeah - the Promenade is still the same except for the props. Suppose at Cleveleys if they'd not done the CGI backdrop you'd have the pub over the road from the visitor centre and the cinema in view.

I'm up to episode 6 and I've enjoyed this so far. It has obviously been filmed for a more mature audience than the Obi Wan series, which I also enjoyed. What I like is the pacing. It takes it's time without becoming ponderous. That allows the story to build and develop tension. So much of today's sci fi is frenetic with the worst example being stuff like Doctor Who where all the dialogue has to spewed out to the point where it's almost unintelligible. That also puts more pressure on the sfx to be good. Andor has struck a nice balance and I like that its quite gritty. Thumbs up from me so far

Tony Gilroy produces this, and his son writes it 9Dan Gilroy). Tony Gilroy was the writer who modernised The Bourne Identity and that trilogy excelled at the cinema, plus he was the saviour of Rogue One after the co-directors got sacked.

Watched ep6 and ep7 tonight. 6 was brilliant, felt quite nervy and edge of seat about how it was gonna pan out. Wasn't disappointed and as someone said, the cgi was amazing of the meteor storm. Foes that can actually shoot as we sadly find out. The dialogue is great, acted well. Definitely puts HOTD and ROP writing to absolute shame.

This is still so boring - least weeks episode just ended suddenly as if they had given up. Production value is great though.

Actors from Eastenders turning up is very jarring.
