Basic its called in Star Wars land. Like English became the language of commercial and industrial interest.I thought i heard some of them speak German as well. I always thought English was viewed as High Gothic the universal language like (40K) but that just an assumption.
(I've played a lot of star wars MMOs when I was younger lol)
My take. They all spoke a mix of German and French sounding language, which really sets up for a ww2 resistance vibe with the backdrop of a Gaudiesq/art deco 20s/30s feel.
I think i already said but i love this ****.
It makes it a lot like 40k where you can have any influence you want mixed in and plop it on a city/planet/hive and then bounce horrific demons into it or glorious space Romans or anything your LSD addled brain can come up with.
