Android 5.1 is Here

:D

You'd be surprised at how well it runs for old hardware. It's finally feeling a bit too long in the tooth now with some of the new updated apps coming out. Perfect timing really as I'm happy enough with the S6 to go for it. Note 4 was nice but just too large for me.

if this build is good enough i might load it to my android

Thought I'd take the plunge and give it a go. I went back to 4.4 after trying 5 because it was awful, but this updates seem to have fixed the problems I was having. :)

Took the plunge, and installed this on my 2012 N7 today. Had been very happy on the previous 4.4 F2FS DirtyUnicorns rom, but I like Lollipop and wanted something to mess with.

Runs better than expected, although first boot did take about 15 minutes...
Sort of expecting the storage performance to degrade quickly, but hopefully not.

Because you love the bugs? :p

Having the latest Android version means very little to me. Rather have a stable properly working version.

To be fair, up until lollipop the latest release of Android was the most stable and properly working version.

Google dropped the ball somewhat with 5.

KitKat went from 4.4 to 4.4.4 over around 8 months, ironing out bugs along the way. I'm happy to sit back for the first 3-4 months and get the matured version compared to the one fresh off the test team.

Add that to many broken 3rd party apps when a desert named version of Android is launched.

Can't say I have ever had issues with apps not working or being buggy on the newest version of android (but then I don't have many apps installed since stock android is pretty much perfect for me :p). I think apps are updated a good few weeks, maybe even months before the update goes OTA.

Me neither. Gotta justify buying a Samsung somehow I guess:p;)

To be honest, ever since Lollipop came out, I have yet to notice any problems with it on my N10. However, it is a tablet with no phone features, so I suppose the ROM is more "simple". With Kitkat and before the bugs were a bit more obvious resulting in me in jumping on the custom ROM boat. Not really noticed any problems on my M7 yet either but HTC may have added in their own fixes.
