ANNO 1800

Not a bad price indeed, compared to others.

For those who have tried the sandbox (assuming there is one) what is that like..? Are the map sizes pretty big and is there a max population or build limit in the game...? IIRC with Tropico 6 the max pop is 2k but you can extend that to 10k, with implications on performance etc.

Voidu have now removed the game from sale.

Personally, I don't care about it no longer being available on steam, I'm perfectly happy to use uplay (and I guess the steam version launches via uplay anyway). But the fact that its no longer available on legit key sites and you have to buy it direct from Ubisoft or Epic is ****. So basically, if you want it you will have to pay rrp. Honestly, and people actually argued Epic was going to be good for the consumer as it was 'competition' for steam, hopefully people can see that's a mistake now.

Its not too bad if you have 100 uplay points, that takes the uplay price down to 39.99, which is what, £4 more than it was on Voidu? (Was it still 35.99 on voidu?)

Ah yeah, true, not too bad a price with the uplay points. Though I still stand by my point as I think this is just one example that we're going to see more and more.

Oh I agree, we will definitely see more and more of it, I personally think that after years of domination the writing is on the wall for Steam being the main platform, I think we will see more and more varied platforms. Uplay though is a platform that I have no problems with, after a poor start its become a reliable platform and there arent too many companies out there which will give you a 20% discount on all of their games, even brand new ones on day one.

Oh yeah, agree about Uplay. It was pretty bad when they first launched it but I'm more than happy to use it these days. I'm not against multiple launchers or somebody who must have everything on steam, I don't even mind the Epic launcher, its just the exclusivity thing I have an issue with.

Bit crap it doesn't have coop on launch, controlling 1 economy with multiple mates in charge of different production lines or islands is enjoyable. Luckily they are adding it in an update at some point in the future... but I'll probably have clocked it by then and be bored of the game.
