I'll give this game a try, if anywhere as good as anno 1404 then it'll be awesome :). Certainly odd playing anno with erm, skyscrapers and modern stuff.

Has anyone tried the multiplayer on this yet?

How does it work? Most continuous games I play last for days, so can you "save" a multiplayer game and reconnect it at a later date?

Anyone up for a game at some point?

Thats how it worked on 1404, used to co-op loads with a mate of mine. Some of those games were 30+ hours with no real end cept when we got bored :p
But no not tried 2070 mp yet. My mate is getting it today so will let you know how it is.

Yeah you start with 2 but both factions start to use tech half way through! So that counts as 3 :p

Pft, I just saw them as sub factions! I've gotten to the point where I start building a monument or what its called but always give up because I think my trade routes/islands are messy.

I've never played any anno online. Is it like the usual rush and fight thing going on or is it more setting up a trade network and co-operating on achieving things? I like the idea of that :)

I've never used combat in 1404 tbh. With online, me and a mate settle on seperate islands and expand together and trade etc. So one can produce one goods type and the other another and trade up. Or both doing solo stuff and chatting. Its very relaxed.

That sounds like a nice way to spend a weekend :).

Right, I playtested multiplayer co-op today for several hours with my mate and I have to say its a lot easier to set up then 1404. Very smooth with adding friends and configuring. As for the gameplay, its what you'd expect. We didnt have npc opponents as it was his first play so it was all just building up and production balancing. Much enjoyment was had all round :)

That's pretty great. Earlier I went into the find players menu and it's good you can choose between landscape architect, admiral and diplomat as your player type.

Maybe I'll try some co-op later then.

I have a question; Does anyone here play this game with NPC Opponents? Seems to me everyone loves these games for the city building and logistic planning and don't care about the combat.

Don't get me wrong, that's what I love. I must have spent 200+ hours on 1404 with no enemies, just building. I only produce weapons in order to passively sell them really, with a few warships later on for when the quests start having a few enemies to deal with.

On my continuous games I have npcs, but just as a "damn they settled the island I wanted" kind of threat. I tried combat on 1404 and quickly gave up after the first island in favour of buying their lands instead. Combat is definately not well developed on these games.

I feel like he combat is meant to be more about production and logistics than actual strategy, but in that case i'd just like to stick with the production and logitistics that I already have without combat.

Yeah, same here. Combat is very much an afterthought in the Anno series (although I do enjoy pirate hunting). I have NPC players just to have someone to compete with really, but I never fight them.

You also need NPCs to trade with!

I'm getting a bit annoyed with my Tycoon continuous game, just not...'feeling' it. Might switch to ecos.

Well even without a proper npc player you still have the random arks sitting around begging for your stuff.

I reached proper endgame last night. Got all 3 factions fully happy and maxed out. Now I guess I just sit back and do many many hours of research :(

A quick note here. Atm I spend a lot of time (being a single screener) going to the website and taking a phone photo of the building layouts. With 1404 I was very eager to make a phone app which showed the building layouts and the construction calc. I'm curious if anyone has the knowhow to make a 2070 one. I'm sure there would be a market for it.
