I preordered it for £25 because I know I'll love it (Have all the anno series). But yeah, I wont get to playing it for ages because of Skyrim :D.

Just finished the demo, seems good, was really getting into it. Will be getting this around chirstmas time. The graphics are impressive, big step up from previous RTS games even Star Craft 2.

Just started the first campaign on the demo. Built a rotary excavator and a coal power station but it won't let me continue any further. The task screen says I need to connect roads to them which I have done.

edit: sorted now.

I like how the buildings get more advanced as you progress. This is defo DX11 as tesselation is used for the water. Runs great on my 5870 on full settings 1080P with 16x AF.

It looks just like Anno 1701 re-skin to me. Shame they couldn't be bothered to make a new one. I really, really loved Dawn of Discovery, but I'm not sure I want to play it again with science fiction graphics...

Since it is a re-skin, can you tell me what the greyed out voting icons on the bottom left of the main menu will do?

Shold I play the first Annos before trying the demo? Or could you just pick up from this one?

They're all self-contained so you can go for Anno 2070. Having said that, if you have no particular desire to play a sci-fi setting, consider going for 1404 because it's a spectacular game and obviously cheaper. :)

was looking forward to trying this, but the game just got on my nerves after awhile, i felt like i was playing a fedex sim, go here and collect this, recieve my delivery etc

Demo is a bit underwhelming but i'm happy they at least bothered.

As it stands, this is the game i'm most stoked for. The UI changes for production chains are AWESOME, and as usual the art direction is excellent.

1404 was 'sanbox' in that you were free to build up your island/empire.

From playing the demo of 2070 it feels very linear and mission led, or will the open style of previous games be available too?

On the campaign window there was a greyed out option for our beloved continuous game.

Loved the slow meandering pace of Anno 1404, enjoyed the demo for this. I find the whole concept thoroughly therapeutic.

I found 1404's gameplay something of a paradox. The pacing was almost glacially slow, but because I always had a hundred things to do at any given time I was still rushing around everywhere, tending to this and that, and never had time to stop.

It was ace! Can't wait for 2070.
