Annoyed :(

Ive been thinking about this some more. When the lady got out the passenger seat she said ' he thought you were overtaking and so he braked'

On reflection I had braked enough to get back in, I think he actually panicked and breaked far too much. After I hit his car we stopped within about 2 seconds so must have been doing about 15-20mph maximum.

I have tyre marks on the side of my front bumper from his rear wheel, if we were going any faster then he would have span.

The guy literally crapped himself and slammed the brakes on. I wasn't going much faster than him when i was 'tucking in' the fact i was braking and he was still getting closer was cause he was braking.

Wonder if the disabled badge was anything. He looked physically able to me.

Here's my car now. notice the front of the bumper is fine.

It was more of a case of me going into the side of his car, as i had no where to go

Hi there

Is the headlight OK?

That wing is easily and cheap to replace. I am sure you will find a decent front wing from a salvage company then all you got to do is paint and fit and tidy it all up.

For now just straighten things up best you can and if the headlights work fine carry on enjoying the car. :)

Headlight is broke, Hopefully it just needs a new unit and the adjustment etc is ok.

Can see all the rubber from his rear tyre on the bumper too.

People do this all the time and you've got to be ready for it - they are intimidated by overtaking drivers and don't know how to react.

I had the exact same thing this morning actually - came over the brow of a hill and could see clearly ahead so I decided to overtake the van in front. In front of the van was a Mondeo, but I don't like pushing my luck and as I was not 100% confident with both at the same time on that bit of road (Although many do it in far less powerful cars) i planned to go in behind the Mondeo, there was a sizeable gap between the van and the Mondeo.

Mondeo driver did what your Jazz driver did - but I guess if anything it faciliated in me overtaking both of them.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I had already commited to tucking in and then i was screwed as I had lost momentum.

The irony is I thought I would be sensible and tuck back in rather than screaming past both vehicles at 9000rpm. Wish I deafened them now! :D

tbh you overestimated a Jazz driver, who do you think was driving Jenson Button.

Also is this on the NSL road where you scream past any car doing less than 50 just go get home 10 mins quicker?

your own fault for not anticapting other drives likely moves. Live and learn. Your insurance will most likely have to pay if you/ the other driver decide to do it via insurance.

*Edit*

I hate drivers who just overtake just to get one car ahead.

Less than 50mph on a clear NSL is just plain annoying! Just a case of being unlucky and the Jazz anticipating wrongly, but not being in the wrong (if that makes sense)

I drive the road everyday from work, its the only place to overtake and after that its 5miles before a 30mph zone into town. Sat at 40 is very boring and slow and pointless. I had every right to overtake

Yes it is easy to be holyer than god on a forum but it was a sunny day and they were interupting my Vtec y0 :p ;)

If the guy had carried on at 40mph then there wouldn't have been an issue, but he even found that too fast for me

Why? If they were overtaking 100 cars would that be alright with you?

Na i do agree with the other guy. There is absolutely no point in overtaking 1 car if there are 2 or 3 in front of it who are going equally as slow? Pointless to the max.

Wots the rush? just to get one car ahead with another car ahead of that? abit dangerous waving in and out no?
In that case why overtake anyone ever? Wots (sic) the rush?

******** IMO. You overtake one, then the other, then the other. It isn't rocket science.
