Do emails sent via webmail give your own IP? I would have thought they just give the webmail host's IP?

Just sent a test to my gmail from my hotmail account as I was about to answer "yes" but wasn't 100%.

There is a value in email headers for X-Originating-IP: [11.11.11.11] which is your own IP.

So, the answer is yes

Even then it would take a court order to the ISP to reveal who they are, unless someone confesses to a murder i doubt anyone's identity is at stake here!

Sod anonymity, I sharted myself (the one and only time) at a date in 2008.

Was having a slash in the loo and realised it was more than I had intended.

Thankfully I don't wear boxers, so was able to stash my soiled briefs in a cubicle, clean myself up, and go commando for the rest of the date.
