Another eBay issue thread

Can't believe this has gone on as long as it has.

1. Tell him to chase Royal Mail, it's not your problem. He contracted them for the delivery, his issue.
2. File an eBay dispute, outline exactly what has happened in all communication.
3. Return the monitor via a service with a tracking number.

That's all you need to do, get it done and overwith.

Making a claim through royal mail is a pain in the ass and he has either lost his receipt or cant be bothered to claim, to be honest that looks like a cheep screen and maybe at the res he was running or graphics settings he didn't really notice it. I would just say that you want to return it and make sure you go through ebay resolution centre first so he agrees for the return, then post it back with tracking.

I have unfortunately had to use the ebay resolution centre a few times due to poor sellers and the odd time they have refused my return but ebay have looked in my favour and issued me a refund, so I was left with the junk they sent.

Stop wasting time and get your money back.

Why are you letting this drag on? Just file a dispute! It's not as described and you should get a refund. It's not your responsibility, nor should you even care, if he has to claim it off Royal Mail or whoever.

I don't understand why you even gave him an excuse in the "damaged in transit" point.

Hey folks. Sorry for not coming back earlier :)
You are all totally right and agree with you.

But there are some points that I am bearing in mind, I do want to end this amicably between us and am willing to compromise. I have offered to him if he refunds me around 60-70% of the value of the monitor and I keep it (I can use it as a spare just incase). He probably wont accept, but I've made the proposition nonetheless.

And this way we can both provide positive feedback to each other.

I have given him till tomorrow to response. If not, I will go on ahead with the dispute claim.

(Im sure I will get a rollocking from you all for being soft :p but as I said, in this instance, if he accepts my proposal, then for me its a reasonable compromise).

Ahh the old DGM monitors, I had a few of these, 2/3 of mine ended up like yours, its not a pixel issue its actually a Serious sort of back light bleed, It happened slowly to mine and i have to tell you that it wouldnt have been postal damage.

your being soft !

raise a dispute and go through the right channel's and get your money back and the postage cost.

he will have to pay the full amount and not a percentage.

Hmm really? So you're saying it could have been sent like this to me?

Stop messing around and file a dispute. Would you have bought it for 30% of the price if you knew it had this problem?

It could have been...depends on how honest/crafty the seller is.

Do some research to see if others have reported the same problem, I've had a quick look round and found a couple of reports, one on comsumer action forums.

I can't link to them because of the forums they are on or because they mention competitors, but they only took seconds to find.

more then likely yes, These DGM 24"' monitors are the same monitors that were called 24" Yurkua or something that started with a Y, its been years since i had mine.

There was a MASSIVE thread about them in the monitor section but again this was years ago, people had the same issue as you and 2 of mine did aswell.

I wouldnt be supprised if he stuck it on ebay thinking a push over would buy it, and your makeing his assumption correct at the moment.

open a paypal dispute asap
