Another Example of Idiocy

Except to the law, which is the ONLY thing that matters, as he hasn't been charged (or convicted) with any offence. Is "trial by Social Media", where non-legal opinions count more than the law, a thing you'd like over the current system?

No, not except to the law at all. That would be up to the CPS to decide the likelihood of a conviction, then a magistrate (if charged with common assault) to decide.

However it is clear that many people think what he did is unacceptable.

No. I mean some people. I include myself in that. I have plenty of experience in such issues. I think what he did was disproportionate and unreasonable.

It's the reason why the word "instinctive" has been bandied around. In my opinion, it plainly wasn't instinctive though.

you think grabbing someone by the arm and leading them out is disproportionate !?

lets be blunt he grabbed her at the BACK of the neck along with the shoulder muscle and guided her out. so if thats too much what would you have done in his situation, we know she didnt want to leave and was trying to rush past him when he grabbed her. so cards on the table what would you have done then ?

excuse me, he is a minister of state and thus projecting to the world that we in the UK treat woman like that and then complain about the attitude prevalent in certain other cultures.
It's not that we treat women like that at all. It's that we treat people refusing to leave a private event that could have potentially posed a threat like that.

Not the same thing at all.

This has just got silly now

"Please could you be kind enough to leave? We are having a conversation" - more suited? May as well just vote Corbyn in now

so why should he apologise to this *********? I think he had pretty good reactions and exactly the right approach.
Um...it was a non-violent peaceful protest and he assaulted her!

Was it peaceful ? Private function that was invaded to be disrupted If you where having a private meeting/dinner and someone came in to disrupt it I don't think you be calling it peaceful.

Would we be talking about this be or get the same level of media coverage if wasn't a conservative MP ? Very Unlikely

Would we be talking about this be or get the same level of media coverage if it wasn't Male on Female? Very.

Was it heavy handed. Yep I would have just left security deal with it in similar man as I doubt they would have left if asked nicely

Given the whole throw milkshakes and fish at people you don't like as a Con MP I would have been prepared and worried about these "protesters" spotting me and trowing something in my face as well

Honestly, I'd have probably done the same.

They'd been causing issues earlier in the evening, looks like quite a ruckuss. People had been trying to get them out and in the short clip before he grabbed her she seemed to be on a mission not just a gentle stroll.

He restrained and ejected her.

all the boohoo crowd because she's a woman annoy me, the fact she's a woman doesn't come into it, male or female they'd have been ejected.

Security would have done the same, as would the police. This is because he's an MP and we like to pick at people like this.

I would definitely not have done that, I would probably have tutted as loudly as my little tongue could muster.

Yes, it was peaceful. Annoying, but peaceful. This incident didn't happen instantly, they'd been on site and in the room for a time beforehand. As I've pointed out multiple times in this thread other people were removed from the room with little force. His was excessive.

well no because then we could accused of human rights violations.

But call me old fashioned, I don't think you should treat a lady like that. A man probably, but a minister of state doing it definitely not.

Even Trump hasn't done that has he?

Sounds abit sexist to me, I wouldn't want to treat anyone like that personally male/female/other, treat everyone with respect at first or not at all.

Fair enough :)

If it was a bloke I would not treat him like that, if he responded the same way. The fact she was a relatively passive female just adds to it.

I find behavior like that repugnant under any circumstances tbh.

He's never needed to because he's surrounded by security.
