The person killed was the person carrying the bomb apparently. Just been on BBC 24hour news.

If you are going back that far then that is a time period that included the Crusades.
It is a gross distortion to say that Islam has ever as a whole been 'obsessed' with blood and death.

Wasn't it founded based upon precisely that? It's greatest prophet was a mass killer for Pete's sake!

Failed suicide bomber apparently.Thankfully he got his instructions from watching '4 Lions' and only managed to kill himself, he did injure 10 innocent civilians mind but luckily none have life threatening injuries. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to this dead sack of ****'s religious leaning, status and how he entered Germany?

Mohammed wasn't the first or last person to wage a military campaign. He is said to have been the first person to try to limit the loss of life in warfare.
In any case the assertion that all Muslims thereafter have been with obsessed with blood and death is not borne out by history or the present.
Until some point past the medieval period western Europe was hardly a haven of liberalism.

I wonder if he still get his 72 virgins or whatever or whether, because he has slipped up at the last minute by not taking any infidels with him, then he doesn't become a proper martyr?

Unfortunately some elements of Islam have never got past medieval culture. That's the problem.
But is the muslim dental assistant of my (excellent) dentist a hardline extremist? Is the Turkish wife of my friend Dave who observes Ramadan and some other Islamic festivals, and who wears western clothing, no head covering and has a job a hardline extremist?

Failed asylum seeker who was denied asylum a year ago.

Joachim Hermann, the Bavarian interior minister, has told the press conference that the bomber had been denied asylum a year ago, Reuters reports.

He had tried to commit suicide twice before, Hermann said. But it was not clear whether he had been trying to kill just himself or others as well in the explosion on Sunday.

Like the person in the origin of this thread why was he not arrested and/or deported?
