Another New Car Thread ....

Nice, good upgrade! Not keen on the front number plate though - get a full width ¾ height one, or just a standard one IMO.

Thought about doing any driver training days before the winter kicks in?

Just go easy on the way home, last few minutes off boost.

Please, please be careful, not just at first but for a long time! When you overstep the mark it will go, and it will go very quickly. Treat damp surfaces with maximum respect. I know it sounds patronising but I've seen so many people bin them as they can be so unforgiving.

I will mate, ive been driving it very very carefully. Its so diffrent to my other cars and the confidence i usually have isnt apprent with this. :)

Sounds good, where you taking it Thorney? Talking nearly 240 with stage 1?

A rear diffuser make any difference, or is it cosmetics?

Not sure yet mate theres a few diffrent , the rear diffuser is ment to give downforce but it looks awesome :) Muncher would prob know if it makes any noticable diffrence ...

Uh oh....the nutter has a more powerful car. :p

Nice one Sam, will have to meet up with you and Ben again some point and take a gander at it. :)

Good! I think the key is to not have confidence in it and to expect it to bite you. It will keep you alert. I still treat mine like it's going to catapult me into a tree any second for that reason.

The diffuser won't make any noticeable difference, unless you go for the very big, very long versions which will then only make a difference at very high speeds. Best to treat it as cosmetic only.

I only know two folk thats HAD a vx220 both of them were eating by trees.

One of them was doing 30mph, to be fair it was wet as in it was raining for 5 mins.

Does the car have a horn, i cannot find one ;) Also i was having some problems with the engine cover / boot thing. It dosent allways close is it just a case of some minor adjustment .....

Sam

Cracking little car and flipping quick too. I think the geo is a good move and a full service and spanner check too but, personally, I'd leave it at that and get it on some track days and get use to it before adding bhp.

interesting, thats three 182 owners i know of that have gone for the VX220 as the next step up! thats a great car history you got behind you now :)

Yes, either side of the steering wheel where your thumbs are. If they don't work when pressed you have a problem, but cross that bridge when you come to it.

The entire boot locking mechanism can be adjusted, but is a bit of trial and error, you will first need to try and work out why the pin isn't engaging, it may be aligned too much left/right/front/back and possible up/down. It's easy to adjust but a little bit less easy to get it set to the right position.

It rained all day yesterday on and off and i was on the M62 for ages .... No way was i getting caught out and besides i was getting wet enough with it on :P

Nice buy mate, looks a cracker. How do you find it on the motorway and as a daily commuter? Thinking of getting one of these as a replacement for the teg.

On the motorway its noisy and you hit holes and it feels like you broke something haha ! But its not too bad it defentley does not bother me. Theres loads of torque so you throw your foot down and it surrrges forward.

Wow Sam, I didn't expect this! Looks fantastic!!

How much did it set you back?

Around £13500 do you fancy meeting up sometime today :) Also you up for doing something chilled out this evening :)

Sam

Very nice! I'm only a bit jealous :D

I will have to catch you on MSN some time and we can organize a bit of a meet up

P.S. Don't kill yourself :p
