Imagine your innocent families deaths being used to bash the BBC because they explained why they won't use a specific word for a 'democratically' elected government in a completely different conflict.

Whether they are a 'democratically' elected government is irrelevant and I don't think it has any bearing on the BBC's reasonings for not calling a terrorist group, terrorists. They have frequently used the the term terrorists.

I wouldn't say its a separate conflict either, its an overspill of what's happened in Israel, same as the incident in France and also China...and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets worse. It doesn't help when we have morons on UK streets tearing down posters of dead or missing Jews, wearing pictures of paragliders and shouting about how they don't fear death.

Glad we aren't living next door to a synagogue, like we were in Gatley many years ago, I reckon we now have enough terrorists over here to make things pretty rickity, security wise, especially given the wet and unarmed nature of our police force. I well recall over 30 years ago the security staff at the synagogue examining the undersides of cars with mirrors and banning any vehicles driven by unknown people from even entering the premises. With the old "afterlife" thing being a pretty big boon, it's quite the motivator.

I'm not sure, but overall I do feel the world would be a better place without religion. Well, at least the contentious ones.
