Eh? You ever heard of other nutters like the Westboro Baptist Church?

I don't think religion is all evil but let's not pretend that Islam is the only one with horrible followers.

As terrible as the WBC are, I can't recall them taking up arms or being linked to terrorism.

They are also an absolutely tiny group in the grand scheme of things.

Imagine your innocent families deaths being used to bash the BBC because they explained why they won't use a specific word for a 'democratically' elected government in a completely different conflict.
Whether they are a 'democratically' elected government is irrelevant and I don't think it has any bearing on the BBC's reasonings for not calling a terrorist group, terrorists. They have frequently used the the term terrorists.

I wouldn't say its a separate conflict either, its an overspill of what's happened in Israel, same as the incident in France and also China...and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets worse. It doesn't help when we have morons on UK streets tearing down posters of dead or missing Jews, wearing pictures of paragliders and shouting about how they don't fear death.

The fact that the BBC never called the IRA Terrorists means I am prepared to let this go that they won't refer to Hamas as Terrorists either. There are far more important things to be discussing than these tragic deaths being used as yet another reason to get rid of the TV licence.

A cult group of nutters who actively protest anything that isn't their cult, here's a snippet from their wiki page:

It is unfair to group people who are saying things most don't like to someone actually killing people.

I'm sure the word terrorism only came into common use after 9/11.

The BBC did call the Real IRA terrorists.

That's some BBC level irony.. lol..

Anyway apparently this terrorist was shot during a stop and search so I wonder where he was hiding the automatic rifle..

This will disappear from the news just as quick as the peaceful stabbing of babies in a French park not long ago:(

There was a murder in the UK on Sunday being handled by the counter-terrorism police, hardly got a mention. Life is becoming very cheap.

Glad we aren't living next door to a synagogue, like we were in Gatley many years ago, I reckon we now have enough terrorists over here to make things pretty rickity, security wise, especially given the wet and unarmed nature of our police force. I well recall over 30 years ago the security staff at the synagogue examining the undersides of cars with mirrors and banning any vehicles driven by unknown people from even entering the premises. They were good but somewhat nerve wracking neighbours! Is this the start of a wave of terrorism in Europe and beyond? Will many BBC staff choke uttering the word? ;)

Yeah I mean, we've ruined Western Europe by inviting millions of cultists in. We called the people who warned us about this racist, now there's almost daily murders.

No need to be sick of all religions - Many are genuinely peaceful and harmless, maybe even beneficial. For the good of all of us, target your anger appropriately.

They are all peaceful and harmless in general.. unfortunately they also all have extreme leans to either side that some people still feel is appropriate. Similar to politics really IMO

Last night was with a friend, and before this attack happened we were talking how the world would be a much better place without religion in it, as it just causes conflicts.

But yea getting rid of Islam would be a great starting point, can't stand it.

I don't think your one sided explanation actually...explains the issue here, assuming that by saying Cultists you do of course mean Muslims.

Do you think when large groups of Muslims came in the 60s they were just as eager to kill people? Do you think the equation is perhaps "religion + x + y= terrorism "?

I not remoately a fan of religion either, but extremists will surely find other things to fight wars over.. they do now.

I'm sure they said that about Christanity during the crusades :-)

I think you'll struggle to find someone willing to blow themselves up over a trade deal or incorrect pronouns..

I do wonder if religion just went would the nutters find something else or would it be at least tempered Down?
With the old "afterlife" thing being a pretty big boon, it's quite the motivator.

I'm not sure, but overall I do feel the world would be a better place without religion. Well, at least the contentious ones.
