ANTEC *Mini* P180 Thread

For you maybe. Plus, not everyone likes cutting up their brand new case. The Antec still has something to offer, such as cooler internals. The mATX-only acceptance could be seen as a bad point, but then that's the market it's aimed at.

I am a self-confessed DIY tard, if I can do it anyone can. :D

So... "mini" case aimed at mini-ATX users that's er... bigger than cases which support full ATX mobos? Great selling point.:p

@Richdog

How are the temps in your rig? I know you've cut a double 120mm vent in the roof of the A05...how is it looking now? Also, what temps are you seeing in the A05?? For me I am downsizing from a water cooled 8800GTX based rig....and want to keep one of the GTXs in service.

Haven't installed it yet mate, will probably do next weekend. Best use the A05 thread to ask about that though. :)

Looks more "chav" of the PC kind if you ask me, no way does it look as slick and smooth as the P180/P182 did!

Yep it's definitely only for m-ATX, having looked at reviews on other sites, it is what it says on the tin... a mini P180/P182. Would I buy it.. no. Do I like the look of it... yes!

That's why I'm kind of ashamed of the fact that I think it looks good!:p

I'd never buy one - the A05 was a much better choice, but there's something about it that appeals to me...

There is no accounting for taste and what one person finds great looking seems ugly to another, as we all know there is no such thing as a perfect case!

I personally think the *mini* is decent looking, probably even better in front of you than in a photo, however . . . . looks aside it appears to have excellent function and is most definitely a thermally advantaged chassis! (200m fan in the roof! :D)

Also like the fact that there is unrestricted access to the major components and scope for good/tidy cable management.

Hello everyone, just got my new antec mini P180 and I can say I am really pleased with it, the system runs quiet and very cool, there is a real quality feel with the case especially with the aluminium front and side doors.
I running an Intel Q6600 quad core CPU, BFG 8800 GTX OC, Asus P5E-VM HDMI Intel G35 Micro-ATX, Tagan PSU 800W, 2x500gb (Raid0 setup), 2x2gb corsair XMS2...

Temps:
CPU: idle 28 / load 41
GPU: idle 62 / load 81
MB: idle 33 / load 39

Just upgraded my CPU cooler to an Akasa Evo and the temps went down to:
20c idle & 31 load,

the core temps are quite differrent:

idle / load
core1: 34 / 55
core2: 32 / 51
core3: 27 / 46 (core3 is always lower, even on stock cooler)
core4: 31 / 50

In my opinion the styling is pretty good, in a kind of an industrial way. Funny how people are so anti antec. The a05 looks great but is fatally flawed due to the poor airflow.

I have one of these and it's a superb case with better cooling than the P180/2 but it's not much smaller at all. Not really the sort of case most people going mATX would go for because of the size.

Nice tidy build there Vas!

Looks great, how are the temps and stuff? That Geforce looks a tad close to the bottom of the case? any plans/need to slap in a 120mm fan in that vacant fan holder?
