The clips on the front of the filter push either down or up and that should un-hook them from there.

Does "down or up" mean that we can choose, or that you are unsure which direction to push them?

I tried both and it wont come off, so im scared to use more force until i know which direction to push these clips.

I have to say that ive only had the machine installed for about a month, and 'sweet J3sus' it catches a lot of dust on the filter. Hate to think how much would go inside the machine if they weren't there!

Hmm, I was having problems with mine there... but, it's push both clips down then pull forwards (holding the clips). And yup, lot's of dust here too... must clean them today!

The hooks of the clips latch on from the top, so pushing down on the clips lifts them up allowing them to come out... eventually!

Edit: Oops, they, erm, hook from underneath. Pushing down, moves them down.

I'm slightly dissapointed with this case. I've yet to transfer my system in but i don't reckon that it's going to be very silent. Yes the side panels are fantastic but the rest of the case is pretty standard construction. The roof is very tinny and the front insubstantial. As i see it the noise will just escape upwards and forwards now.
Using drive rails was not a good idea in this case. It means that there are big gaps in the face of the pc for sound to get out and more importantly (with the big fan pulling air through at the back) dust to get in. Staying with the front the facing is of rather poor construction compared to the side panels and i don't see it doing any deadening. As a result i'm sticking adhesive sound proofing behind the frontage. I've also done this on the roof (which is riveted on and hard to remove) and over the back grille. with most people sitting infront of their pcs it would have made more sense to soundproof the front more heavily. Also to move the noisiest components (hds) backwards. Rubber fanmounts would have been nice as well.
if the whole exterior of the case had been made of the same material as the door panels i've no doubt it would have been a very quiet case. As it is i only see a nice chassis with decent panels. I'm seriously considering staying with my plusview 1000 as it's undoubtedly more attractive and this upgrade is looking more like a lateral move.

This is the completed build. Far from silent but not bad. I'm having trouble With the large fan at the back. it's not starting on boot unless i give it a nudge. Any ideas? I'm also having trouble with temperature readings. The system temp is 30c with the door off which just putting my hand in the case is obviously well off.

After reading the problems occuring with the Asus A8N and Akasa Paxpower PSU, I've become a bit concerned.

Will I face the same troubles with the Powerplus 550W Power Supply by the same manufacturer? If so could you recommend me an alternative power supply please. Thanks :) .

I would recommend using a modular supply like the Hyper R type.
You will also need a 4 pin extension but this way thw cabling is so much more tidy and it makes installation in this case easier than with standard supplies!

Would switching to an Epox motherboard help at all? Or is this issue mainly to do with the Power supply cables rather than the motherboard layout?

I really wouldn't recommend going to a lot of trouble to get this case. Since moving my system from an Antec plusview i've seen temps rise by 7C and that's without overclocking. At the same time noise has only marginally decreased as i've had to whack the fans up to high to keep my ambient temp below 40c during games. There are many better cases out there.

How does one install a floppy drive in the floppy bay?!?! I cant get to the screws that would hold it in on the side of the cage as a panel is in the way. You will see what I mean if you have a look. I cant work out how its done. Also, my DVDRW drive does not line up with any mounting holes at all in the drive care rack. How rubbish.

With regards to the floppy drive, you use thes small rails. Pull off the plastic cover bend and break off the metal blanking plate and simply slide it in.

As for the DVD-RW drive, what make and model do you have?

I have built a system using this case - i'm very impressed with it

I used an Abit A8N ultra
Enermax Liberty PSU (great PSU with long cables no extension required)

If it was not for the XFX 7800 GT this case would be near silent.

Temps

CPU - 20C idle - 30C running Prime95
Mobo - 30C idle
PWM - 30C idle
7800GT - 40C

All 3 fans are running on low and stock cooling on the CPU.

Got an LG DVDRW the one that writes DVDRAM forget the model name.
As for the floppy, yeah I get how to get it in position, but where you would go to screw it into position on its sides with screws, you cant because there is a metal area in the way so I cant tell how to install it.

Edit: LG 4163

There are 3 1/2" rails in the cardboard box that contained the top fan vent. All the other rails are for 5 1/4" components.

You need the rails first before trying to put the floppy drive into the case.

Thanks for that mate. Unfortunately I have to say i have been somewhat let down by a forum member on here as I bought an Antec P180 from members market and it turned up in poor condition with various parts missing, scratches and a fan with a snapped fan blade of which the remains were not even in the package :( I had no idea it came with all of these things including the top vent/exhaust as these were not included. Not happy. :( I dont suppose anyone has a spare couple of drive rails?

Yeah, I've got two for the floppy drive and a few 5 1/4's for your optical drives (did you get any of those - they should be fixed to the vga duct)?

If you view my profile by clicking on my name my email address is the same as my MSN address - to send me your postal address. :)
