My 470 plays games in 3D faster then my 275 played them in 2D!
LoL
Thinking of getting the 480 so might sell my 470.
How much would I get?
Bought from OCUK, firth batch received with receipt...

I've used it on my friends rig which I overclocked for him. i7 @ 4Ghz 12gb DDR3 GTX 295, Alienware OptXTM AW2310 3D.
Just Cause 2 is a major problem also as if you turn GPGPU on for the water effects it renders SLi null and void and that already takes a hit on FPS.
You've gotta remember The No1 Dave is running at 1680x1050 unlike your friends res of 1920x1080.
I have to admit going from the Samsung 2233RZ to my new Acer GD245HQ has given a bigger performance hit in 3D than I was expecting.
The new 257 drivers enable you to use Cuda on a specific card which is handy for me using my 260 for PhysX and Cuda.
so? My points are still valid![]()

Think it's time to sell the 260 and get another 480, along with a new psu![]()
Cuda water and its performance in just cause 2 that important to you...
After a bit of benchmarking and fiddling about, it appears as though enabling cuda just on my GTX 260 in Just cause 2 provides absolutely no benefit whatsoever
You'd have thought that offloading some of the load from the 480 would give you some sort of gains? but no, doesn't make the slightest bit of difference if I enable it on both cards or just on the 480, still getting more or less the same sort of framerates.

I'm not sure if the CUDA options are actually working yet - on mine it just crashes the control panel if I change it - and CUDA is still just done on the primary GPU.
No they're not. You've never used it so can't comment.
Yes?
I am not causing trouble in any way, I have not offended anyone?
I was simply stating, all these people who have ATI cards & have never even tried 3D Vision are commenting. But why? They have no grounds to as they have not tried it...
The grounds are that you dont assume that because someone has a ATI card in the sig that they don't also have an NV card & friends that have Nv cards & 3D vision & as if there are no reviews also.
It's a possibility that some may have seen it on a friends pc, but judging by the comments they haven't and are only going by what other people who have never seen it have said. They are all views that have been dreamed up instead of actually witnessed, apart from those who have gone by what an official review has posted. Basically people answering the question (which is a valid one) with nothing more then a guess. If the OP wanted someone to guess then I doubt he would have posted as his guess is as good as anyone else's.
Sorry, it just bugs me when people comment on something as if they have used it when they actually know nothing about it & have never even seen it used. If someone with 3D Vision came on & posted genuine issues/advise then that's perfectly reasonable & would be a lot more useful to the OP.![]()
That's a tad unfair. I posted lots of links to mainstream reviews and gtx 470/480 users benchmarking 3d and giving their opinions as I could not answer the op directly and that was after all the OP's main question "link me to some reviews"
My only comment was the noticable 50% to 70% hit in framerates in those reviews and Nvidia users reports which would lead me to beleive that you would ideally want two cards in SLI or live with lower graphics settings.
I will stand corrected by Nvidia users on here that 25 fps in 3d is as good as 60 fps in 2d as far as the gaming experience goes though.
