Any downsides to a smart meter?

Hundreds per year here just from the smart meter.

They then enable the installation of other things and when you combined them altogether it’s >£1k a year.

They've been okay for me, after sending them a photo of the rear a couple of days ago it's showing connected to my meter now, though it isn't actually pulling any data about usage etc yet.

Unfortunately it seems to have disconnected my old IHD in the process.
My new IHD started fully working over the weekend and is now showing all the data as normal, which also means the Geo app is updated live too, which is handy. Even better is that the old IHD now works again, so I can have one in my living room/kitchen and one in my office.

My meter is from 2004 - soit's not smart, do they just upgrade the one I have - or install something else inside the house? - My meters are in the the usual grey box on an outside wall.

They replace the meter and will provide an In-Home Display, but you can plug that in wherever you like (within range of the meter).

I think we're back to this previous post:
Pretty sure that this thread has been answered now, and it's just going around in a loop.

Some people like them, some don't, some just have an irrational dislike.

We may as well just close this thread now.

Why don’t you want a smart meter?

People are going to say "you can save money"

Lee says "I am rich"

"But you don't need to read out meter and report

Lee says "I am rich, I don't work, I have lots of time"

"But but....money"

Lee says "I just don't want it."
