Any Labrador owners here?

Cheers for that, im terribly sorry I have offended you so badly, but im actually proud of where im from and the way I speak. Just dont read my posts then.

lol, anyway in Wales(least my part) that generally means a woman who err drinks a bit much and acts like the guys sister in the thread today.

Before you buy a lab, read a book called Marley And Me.

But go for it anyway. Dogs are great when kids are young and at home. I loved ours.

Thanks for the heads up on this book, managed to get a copy and have just finished reading it. Great book, felt like i'd just lived through life with him! Was a little choked at the end but tbh, i'm just looking forward to bringing Charlie into our home even more now.

Went to see Charlie today, he is 7 weeks old now. 2 more weeks before we will be bringing him home, i just want to fast forward.

Took a couple of pics:

OH
MY
GOD!!!!

How gorgeous is that!
(and just for you Tefal I didnt mention the L word)

I couldn't see what Teki187 was saying earlier about charlie's eyes but in the lastest photo I think I can see something not quite normal? again though it could just be the angle of the dog.
But he is lovely!

Don't do this to me!

He has been to vets a few times now and i'm assured of a clean bill of health. I really studied his eyes today and i'm really confident he has no problems.

I'm sorry! i did say it could be the angle of the dogs head! if he has been to the vets then everything is fine, and of course you have seen him, we haven't,
So enjoy you new dog and I really hope you many happy years ahead, We did with our Lab!

I have two black labs, had them for about a year after moving out of home. I grew up with two golden labs and couldn't move out without my own.

My other half bought the pup from a neighbors litter and then we were given the Dad as he wasn't kept in the best circumstances. The dad is a bred gun dog and was 3 (now 4) and he's got his problems after being kept outside all his life but very loyal and affectionate. The puppy is a typical lab puppy. Shes now about 18 months old, still has problems keeping her business out of the house plus shes very timid and lacks confidence mainly due to a lack of a clear routine. We have a cage almost as big as a room for her as she chews EVERYTHING. From experience it can take up to 4 years for them to grow out of this.

Labradors are very much a routine dependent dog. You can leave them for 6 hours but you gotta be straight out the door with them when you get back. Here's some pics from holiday last year:

I'll always be with a Labrador. If I ever get bigger accommodation I do fancy adding to the family with a Burmese mountain dog. I'll always have a camping/dog oriented holiday every year and I spend at least one day a week up a hill somewhere where they can have free reign and burn off some energy.

Then i take what i said back, it must have been the photo. Sorry to get you worried.

He looks gorgeous!!

Watch out for the razer sharp puppy teeth :D

Have fun with your puppy and dont forget to check out labradorforums, great place.

One of the members (Diana) came 3rd and another first (bitch) in the gun dog thing at crufts.

Nothing wrong with those eyes! Even if he was boss-eyed - it just adds to character.

R.I.P Dempsey! Been almost a year :(

Dempsey looks like he was one cool guy. My better half grew up with Boxer dogs, she just got a little emotional looking at those pics.

Picked Charlie up on Friday and i'm so in love with the little fella. Is hard work but very enjoyable too, to be fair he is quite laid back. Anyway, here he is relaxing in his new home :) .

Awwwww, enjoy him wont you, while hes so teeny and into everything.
Had a 15 week old chocolate labrador for the night the other week, and I hated it when he went home with his Mummy because he was just so sweet and such fun.

Spent the easter weekend getting our lab used to the shotgun. She's not scared of it anymore so thats one step closer to the gundog aim! Had a black lab for years who loved to go shooting but she died a year or so back after going from black to grey in her old age :(

Labradors are the best dogs ever! Really friendly and cuddly yet really good working dogs too.

Reading this post has been one of the hardest things ive done in recent months. Our black one died a few weeks ago and reading this made me :(
