But then again, with the added photo/video/music functionality I may even forget about the fact that I wouldn't use it much as a phone

EDGE i believe is a fast version of GPRS, that offers similar speeds to 3g. More popular in america I believe, though I think orange have edge capibility in the uk, the others might but i'm not too sure.

It will integrate just like the iPod does for music (and presumably photos/videos in addition).

Apparently users will be able to synchronise their address book and email over, too. No idea how that will work, though...
