Any news on 7800 xt?

Oh dear, I do hope the few people who actually bought 60, 70, and 80 gimped edition cards aren't going to feel silly now Nvdia are once again selling their fans the real cards 6 months later...

Is there a precedent for this I wonder?

:D
Wait until they find out that the 2024 versions of RT, DLSS and FakeFrames only work on these "new" cards.

Is there a precedent for that I wonder?

:D

Nice to see these cards going for £500 now on Overclockers.

I imagine most will opt for the Sapphire Pulse model though.

There's some cards going for £488, so I hope people buy these cards rather than spending £600 on a RTX 4070...

The prices on Navi32 based cards should improve, once the 7700 XT prices come down.

I think part of the problem is that the 6700 XT is still selling for ~£330, so until these cards sell out, the prices could remain at this level.

The 4080 came out 6 months ago? When did the 4070 Ti come out?

A better card coming out over 13+ and 10+ months after launch. Evil nvidia (just like Google, Apple, Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei etc. who all release tech annually).

^ Really stupid comparison

Really stupid comparing tech with tech. I agree.

CPUs actually used to even come out every year. Of course Intel eventually got caught out, not making much progress once AMD became a non-competitor.

Even ATI/AMD GPUs, given the original comment was intended to bash nvidia. Nvidia of course has done the same if you were to look at a similar timeline.

Technology has been on annual cycles for most things for a long time. Claiming it's 6 months since something like the 4080 came out is also completely disingenuous.

A mobile phone will do a lot more than a GPU.. its a whole system that has multiple components to it which will have upgrades more often.. go buy a GPU and let me know what you can do with it when it isnt hooked up to the rest of a PC.

Even comparing a graphics card to a laptop is stupid too.

What do you think GPUs are used for? To build PC systems and laptops. It's not just GPUs, the vast majority of components are updated up to once a year. So comparing to a systems, like phones, TVs, laptops, PCs is perfectly valid.

Regardless, releasing hardware annually in the PC space is the norm. Not an exception.

Managed to get the Nitro+ 7800xt from a competitor for £516 :D
Seen quite a few of these type deals, wondering how low prices would go for the 7800xt?

MBA looks great IMO- I’d pick that over AIB and sound isn’t that noticeable (32db is whisper quiet for the nitro and the mba does 35db) on load.

One of my friends is getting 21700 on timespy OC and undervolted drawing 280w max junction temps 86C.
