I'm 31 and exactly the same. I think my "decline" started probably about 10 years ago. I just assumed it was a natural part of "growing up" and having to split your time between different activities/jobs/responsibilities. I've been into building PCs since 2005 and have kept a spreadsheet detailing all my PC related purchases since then. It stands at just under £17,000, which I don't think is that bad for 13 years as that is just over £1300 a year. My last PC was a i7 4770K based system which I built in 2014. It didn't really get a whole lot of use, I think I logged maybe 270hr on BF4 and a similar amount of Company of Heroes. I retired it a few weeks back for a 2700X system which will hopefully last just as long. I was all set to buy a 1080Ti a few weeks back but got an XB1X and a bunch of games for just over £400 and have been really enjoying sofa gaming. Forza Horizon 4 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider just play much nicer with a controller on a sofa. If I think back to when I was gaming the most, I was at college and I sunk literally hundreds of hours into BF1942 and the Forgotten Hope Mod, I was single and had so much free time. Looking back it was kind of a waste but oh well, hindsight is a wonderful thing!
