Any problems with this build (apart from cost)?

this is what i would get for that money

Yep I have to agree.

Antec 1200 and a 850W Antec PSU is a good way to go.

Keep with the Noctua D14 great cooler. x2 5850 would be cheaper.

UD5 not worth it unles you really want dual ethernet slots :L uD3R is fine for overclocking.

Let me havea go for you :)

Yeah I really like your basket mattjd. Trying to decide on a 5970 or 2x5850s and the 2 WD drives over the f3s.

Just been through this thread, and no one has bothered to ask what resolution or his monitor size!

Ok cool, guess they would make use of the 6gb sata. The only thing im really concerned about with them is game loading times, so was thinking 2 raid 0'd F3s might be good for the price.

Im umming and erring over the graphics card, but thanks for everyones help.

Afraid not. Mechanical hard drives simply can't transfer data fast enough to utilise SATA 6GB/s. In this review, the mechanical WD black SATA 6GB/s hard drives in RAID0 (2-disk) actually performed better (albeit slightly) using a SATA 3GB/s controller compared to a 6GB/s controller. The only real use for SATA 6GB/s is for SATA 6GB/s SSD's.

Nasty ugly case.

Worse cooler.

Smaller SSD space.

Half the harddrive space.

Two 5870, when one 5870 or two 5850 or a 5970 will do.

its great case
cooler with 3 fans is better than new noctua
whats the point of such large ssd?
150 pounds left if he needs more hdd
why not? "will do" ? if he wanted a spec for "will do", a £1k build can be done that wont be different in performance.

Alright guys lets keep it civil, everyone has a different view, which is why I like these build check threads- see the different possibilities and decide on my priorities. I think I will go for a slightly beefed up graphics configuration and save on a few other bits.
