Any tips to stop waking up at 4am?

I cannot stop myself from waking up at 7am, even on a day off. It's almost precisely on the hour, every day.

No alarms involved :p
 
Stay up for 24 hours and do a hard reset of your body clock at whatever time you deem proper.

I had to do this a few years ago after my time to go to sleep crept ever forward over time mostly due to relationship, work stress and an addiction to MMOs! Got to the point I'd be awake at 6am, asleep at 7am, and had to be up for work at 8am. I tried all sorts.. going to bed early.. various remedies.. exercise.

Staying awake over a weekend cured this for me. I think I managed 28 hours before crashing.
 
Magnesium, Zinc & Vitamin B6? Might as well just take a normal (and much cheaper) multivitamin.

Not really because normal (cheap) multivitamins are basically a waste of time.... The forms of vitamins / minerals in them are extremely cheap and your body does not absorb them.... They are made as cheaply as possible and marketed to people who do not know any different purely for as much profit as possible.... Your statement would be a good example of this (no offense)... ZMA supplement is designed to be well absorbed... For example the zinc in a multivitamin would be probably 10mg zinc oxide = ~10% absorbed (1mg total zinc absorbed)... The Magnesium would be 50mg Magnesium oxide = ~10% absorbed (5mg total magnesium absorbed) etc. Cheap multivitamins are basically a waste of money. ZMA has types of magnesium / zinc / b6 which your body will actually use... ( zinc l-methionine, magnesium citrate etc. which would be more like 250mg magnesium / 20mg Zinc absorbed in a serving as opposed to 5/1mg in a multivitamin!) Anyway my point was that ZMA supplement before bed can help you sleep well and also has other benefits.

thanks for all the tips. i really think its just a case of resetting my body clock again. Maybe this weekend, i'll go on a bit of a bender and hit the whiskey ! I had a cup of hot cocoa last night, didn't help, actually just made me wake up for a whizz at 2am.. and then like frickin clockwork, up at 4am again.. could have saved myself the 300cals there by not bothering.

Cocoa is actually a stimulant so it would wake you up more.
