Anybody else who uses ALDI Ferrex tools?

They are far better than all the generic cheap off-brand tools you get from Argos/B&Q/Amazon etc. I'd say the quality is far closer to the big brands than it is the cheap stuff. It looks to me like they basically copy the Bosch product range.

Last year I think CH4 did a programme on ALDI/LIDL products and they came out very favourably against the bigger brands.
ALDI have now released a Ferrex Pro range which I tempted to get.

Back in the 80s I went to a specialist shop to buy a name brand hammer drill and took over £400 with me.
I knew the bloke in the shop and he pointed at a KRESS hammer drill and said "Buy that".
I said I wanted a name product that would last and he said that Kress made Makita amongst others but they sell the same products for half price with their own name on.
It's still going strong.

Mixed bag with Aldi tools. However the general trend is downwards, especially with their costumier service, warranties and refunds.
I've one driver/drill. ?13.8v?
Had for 10+ years. Complete with two batteries, torch and reciprocating saw. ~£35 new, still going strong, used daily.

Past few years. 40v circular saw. Bought 6, all failed. None were offered repair or replacement , as promised in warranties.
So take apart and repair. Simple when you find it ( #1, burnt out/fused trigger switch. #2 burnt out motor ( new from China for£7 delivered)

Not ALDI, but I got the LIDL Parkside 12v Oscillating tool and it turned out to do the job for a decent price (cutting a few floorboards). I did buy a few batteries though as like others have mentioned the problem is the availability which makes it really annoying.
Been doing a lot more DIY recently and bought the 12v drill which has been okay for doing small drilling jobs and works as a nice drill-driver.

You can definitely feel or see a quality difference with the more established brands but yeah if you're doing a bit here and there, these fill a gap in the market price-wise.
