Can we get an accounting of personal info on all the infidel scum who conveniently revealed themselves in the poll?!

May Steam be upon you all :)

Not every body lives like a pig you know.
I have about 250 games on steam
I would hate to have to find space for them extra 250 game boxes if i bought them all retail..

I already got enough problems with finding where to put all my PC-games / PC software/ PS3-games / Xbox360-games / DVD-movies/ blu-ray movies/ etc etc boxes how it is

Love steam, just worry one day for some stupid reason/mistake they would take my games away.

There's major room for improvement -the ability to limit download speeds and force updates whilst you're playing games need to be added.

But all in all, I love Steam

A massive plus for pc gaming in general is the hugely reduced piracy rate

Also the ability to have multiple updates and patches -especially for games like TF2 and L4D2 is awesome. Imagine having to update TF2 from the vanilla install, if you installed them all in order it would be over 150 patches!

I do hope they release authenticator dongles or something like that in the future

Back in the day, I used to pirate games. Then Steam came along - and it was more convenient to buy a game on Steam and have it auto-install and auto-patch than it was to download, install, patch and crack a pirated game.

I now own ~200 games on Steam - and whilst my ethics have changed somewhat since I was younger (I hate piracy now!), I like to agree on the hypothesis that Steam has prevented (and continues to prevent) a lot of piracy simply down to the convenience it provides.

I could not agree more with that statment, it sums up my own personal feelings EXACTLY.

Uv, by the way, where has your avatar gone?

Love and hate steam. Love that i have the games and cant loose, hate because its expensive and the winter/summer deals also kill my wallet because there so good and so many.

Love STEAM, I admit when it first came out I hated it but i've grown to love it, as far as i'm concerned Steam is one of the reasons I love PC gaming, if all games went to Steam then PC piracy would take a massive hit but obviously they cant have the monopoly on the whole platform

+1

Yep it's fine for me. At least it's easier to get on with than GFWL. Now that does my ****ing head in at times :D

I love Steam - so convenient, although a tad overpriced when not in a sale.

You should have seen the comments when Civ 5 was announced to be using Steam.

About those two bits, It's more of a workaround but if you alt tab and pause and then resume the download you can download and play.

And what do you think of Steam guard?

The only concern I have with Steam (didn't like it when I first got HL2 because our modem was messing around and often dropped Steam connections), is the amount of control they have over the games. I hate how easily it is to lose access on the whim of someone at Valve.

If that did happen, I'd probably pirate most of the games then.
