I voted that I drink every day, but I actually drink every day that I can. I spend half the year in an environment where drinking is forbidden (offshore), so this gives my liver a chance to reduce to a normal size. I'm on my last day of my 'dry' time, and by god I am looking forward to a cold one tomorrow.

I'm not a pc geek, in fact I'm far from a geek. I am a health geek though - so maybe you're right ;)

No offense meant, just that general observation, gamers tend to stay in on a weekend and play on games (wow/bf) etc. just the way it goes really, most of the geeks I knew would never step foot in a trendy nightclub.

None of the options really. I binge drink on average once, maybe twice, every couple of weeks. Some weeks I drink nothing, some weeks I have a whisky every night. I'm not worried about any of the habits. I do enjoy a club more if I'm drunk but that isn't alcohol dependance, I can equally well enjoy other activities sober, and I can happily sit down and relax over the course of the night with one or two drinks without feeling the need to keep drinking.

Who made this poll..... Since when was drinking less than once a day classified as 'drinking rarely'....

I tend to drink every couple of weeks, sometimes more, sometimes less..

Probably 2-4 units a time.

I don't particularly like going out to clubs, but I'll happily go out to bars and pubs with friends for a couple of drinks...

Possibly, I don't really know anyone who doesn't socialise or is socially inept - certainly not the hundreds of guys I've met from here - but I'm sure you're right and that some people would choose an indoor life rather than a social one. However, I'd say, each to their own. I'd rather go to the gym or do some exercise/sport rather than play computer games, though I'd rather socialise than go to the gym if I have had a good week's worth of exercise that is!

It doesn't matter how much you drink as long as you function in your day to day life.

Until you end up in hospital with liver failure I guess...

I don't drink alcohol. What I do drink, I don't drink regularly or to the point of stupor like so many seem to do.

I don't tend to drink that much in the week, I'll go for a pint with my dad (2 pints) and then it can depend on the weekend. It might just be a couple, it could be an all day event..

I have started to limit myself to 5 or 6 drinks on a big night out though, I'm sick of feeling like crap the next day, so far my plan seems to be working.

I drink a 4 pack of Fosters and a 500ml bottle of vodka daily. It starts from about 9am (can before work), at work I'm able to drink vodka as it's for the most part odourless and looks like water in my cup.

The other 3 cans are drank at home with my evening meal and while watching corrie.

I might be wrong, but I thought that spirits came in bottles of 350ml, 700ml and 1L?

I stopped 3 weeks ago and won't ever drink again. I'm not going to preach at anyone (the same way I, as an ex-smoker, don't preach at people who smoke) but I decided that the way I was going was not conducive to a long and happy life.

It's incredibly easy to slip from 1 or 2 beers every night or two to 4 or 5 beers every night, and more at the weekend. The body is an amazing yet treacherous thing because it adapts to this increase in booze intake. This in turn causes problems, many of which you can't see or feel until it's too late. I've had enough, don't need it, and already feel much better for not having alcohol. I can't do 'the occassional drink' or 'a pint or two' so it's nothing from here on in. I'm actually ok with this and it's making the gym far more fun, the mornings far more bearable, and my chance of a longer life far higher.

This is what I'm going to have to do but having a **** week at work or my mates asking me to go out doesn't help. If I don't go out drinking I rarely see my mates as we work different shifts etc, but if I continue drinking the way I do on a weekend I'm gonna end up doing something stupid or damaging my body.

I fear i drink a little too much, some one i work with was asked by a doc how many units he drank in a week and when the doctor described the limit in real terms ie. drinks he laughed and said i can drink more than than in one day >.<
