Got an email from Nationwide today.

The first £50 of arranged overdrafts are now interest free. Not much, but it will help some people I imagine.

Actually useful for us, we only put in enough to our joint NW account to pay bills and occasionally it catches us out.

Was annoying getting charges for being overdrawn just for one day, especially when FirstDirect give oyu a free £300 overdraft.

Has anyone had any success with a nationwide green loan? How far can you push them?

As long as meets conditions and is all spent on qualifying items, you'll get the maximum. I'd use it as free funding but only if it's actually needed and I could afford it anyway. I'd overpay to ensure it doesn't get interest charges after the 2 year period.

Is it 0%? How stringent do they check?

No this is a 'thank you' for supporting the Virgin Money take over.

Not fair to Virgin customers like me who have a Virgin credit card.
Why is it not fair to Virgin Money customers? It says the thank you is for Nationwide customers as at 30th September as they helped to put nationwide in the position to be able to buy Virgin Money

If Virgin Money didn't have profitable customers then it Nationwide wouldn't have bought it.
