Anyone else disappointed with the Bioshock demo?

Seriously... Probably one of the most depressing games ever made. It has made me want to cry  . I didn't enjoy it at all either....

i agree it is very macabre and depressing. But i want to save it! thats what games are about, being the hero and overcoming your fears!

Only thing i didn't much care for was the irritating token scots guy on the radio. Hope we dont have to put up with his **** for long.

Could have been worse.... a token numpty perhaps?

I loved the demo, I admit I wasn't too impressed by the graphics, i'm sure the underwater scene in the automated lift thing looked better in the videos than on my PC :P

Some textures I was appalled with but some stuff was pretty nice.

I'll try nvidia control panel later and whack s'more settings up :)

But I'm glad there's a new single player game for me to play!

Are people forgetting Half-life 2 was released 3 YEAR AGO ......

After all the hype that biopiss received I was looking forward to the demo, but deja vu....been there done that, absolute garbage.

Downloading 1.8gb just to play this pish is very cheeky

Some people are really easily pleased.

I'd rather play through a 3 year old game again in half-life 2 than play this allegedly next gen ****.

The only shock I got was at how crap it is ......

all I can say at the moment, is wait for the full game, it will be a hell of a lot better than the demo

Ive finaly played it, and completed the demo running on 1680x1050 (widescreen native res) beautiful!

Id like people to point me at the games of recent years that blow this away.

Because i must have been living in the dark, I aint seen anything this impressive since HL2

It gave my poor 6800GT a go for it's money with all the settings on low and the screen res at 1920x1200...

I might wait until my upgrade to a Macbook Pro (looking like March time) to play it in all it's glory, or I might get it now, play it as best as my current rig will take it, and then play it through again once I've made the upgrade.

Panzer

Hmm not sure if a MBP is going to really improve the experience.. mobile editions of graphics chips tend to suck...

I reckon my MBP nVidia chip is slower than my 1950XTX.

I was impressed,

But I thought the Unreal Engine 3 would be better.

a lot of this stuff, you saw in Unreal 2.

I didnt like the guns much, couldnt really tell if i was hitting stuff, not much oommff behind them.

Mate - No offence but you are weird.

You obviously do not like this type of game so don't say it is crap when it is clearly not. It is like not liking heavy metal then calling that crap.

This is a demo which is obviously designed from the ground up to showcase some aspects of the game. I doubt we will be picking up two plasmids and a tommy gun within 2 minutes come this friday.

Please play something else cause you clearly do not like FPS, or maybe even video games - maybe you should try monopoly? ;)

thank god you are in the minority then !

What has 'minority' got to do with it ?????

This is my opinion and I couldn't give a damn if im portrayed as the majority or minority.

I just can't understand why this game has been given all the hype.

Oh wait...... i'm forgetting when your in that tunnel bridge and the water
starts gushing in ........really add's to the gameplay.

Dude - you are really strange. Seriously; what are you looking for in a game today. Total originality today in the video games industry is ultra rare, so all you can hope for is atmospheric well executed solid game play in original environments with, you hope 'some' new ideas or a slant on delivering a tried and tested gameplay mechanic.

If you expect more then pretty all of the next big releases will disappoint.

It sounds like you get swept up in the hype machine to easily. Well I suggest that you never go to any games sites or buy and games press. Then when a triple A title is launched, you will be surprised by what is on offer, as you wouldn't have elevated it in your mind to God's lofty heights, and enjoy it more.

It gets a thumbs up from me, and it ran so well on my system ( no surprise I know)

Well, I would prefer to call you 'an absolute easily pleased tart' than to call you weird because you like bioshock.

You have concluded that because I don't like bioshock it must mean I don't like fps, which is lame.

So, i'm now going to say you're an absolute easily pleased lame of a tart.

I've seen the gamer tv review and watched the trailers and they didn't impress me, but with all the hype it's been getting I thought I would try the demo for myself to see if it change my mind about it.

And I can categorically say I didn't impress me one iota.....
