Anyone else find Dead Space boring?

Played the first one for no more than 20 mins. Installed it, couldn't get used to the huge character model and third person view with keyboard and mouse, uninstalled it.

Same as me, and I seem to recall I bought DS1 and DS2 in a steam deal a while back for a tenner. Never have I before I spent that small amount of time on a game before throwing in the towel.

A big fan of the series however dead space 3 was a disappointment. It has to be played with a controller only as mouse just doesn't work well. In my opinion, just skip the third lol.

I couldn't get on with the over shoulder view - I get that it adds to the atmosphere but meh - not for me.

No doubt will try again as I have all 3 :D

Started the first one and was enjoying it, but it made me terribly motion sick no matter what I tried. Had to abandon it in the end, only game I've stopped playing due to it making me feel ill

The first one started off extremely well and introduced some great concepts (those cherubs...) but became repetitive and predictable quickly towards the mid-point in the game. I too am about to begin playing the sequel and I'm not looking forward to it because I fear it'll be more of the same thing.

I did however play through the first game twice (once on 360, then on PC), I really enjoyed it but yeah it does start to feel a bit samey half way through, I've never managed to get any further than the first few chapters in the second, it doesn't really introduce anything new, and the story is far from gripping.

And it sounds like DS3 went full-on Resident Evil 5/6 and completely forgot it was a horror game, so although I picked it up cheap on Humble Bundle, I really can't see myself playing it, shame really.

Agree with this dude. Why waste hours on a game that you don't find fun/interesting?

You can read about the story on Wikipedia. I just saved you 8 hours, enjoy.

I used to be the same as the OP but there is that many games out now that I refuse to play games I think are just OK or below average

Only played Dead Space II, for about 1-2 hours and I have never looked back. Couldn't find anything exciting about the game and the guns were crap, personally found it all a bit too inane.

I quite like watching full play youtube videos, its a lot less effort and you can just skip forward :p Theres a merge between movie and games nowadays, I think some of them are watchable more then playable

If you already own it, change levels maybe with a cheat ?

Sure is a lot of games out there to play, got the whole Witcher series that I haven't played yet and 3 is just around the corner! DayZ Overpoch is wasting my time atm lol.

Have you considered you could be a online gaming addict?

I find it hard personally to play single player games when online gaming is much more fun and different all the time.

Really, I find myself getting bored with online games a lot quicker due to every match being pretty much the same. Dead space series are great stories, decent games. I like a good narrative in my games though, keeps me going back.

Sadly I didn't get time to be bored as the FOV was literally unplayable, I had to give up on the first level it was that bad.

It was just a Boo! shoot you game.

Dont think I managed the 1st level same with doom 3.

Only game to get me was FEAR 1 the rest just pifft. I dont like horror games but FEAR
was cool.
