Anyone else got a 2900XT and a similar spec to me (P5N-E SLi)

Ran a quick one and bearing in mind my CPU is not as fast by a long shot but the res is lower @ 1280x1024 i got 30fps average with 4xAA and 4xAF! So not so bad considering they used a Quad :p

I'll go and have a look :). I look forward to seeing it at XT speeds too. If that driver Raven has posted improves things also then it's looking quite good.

I don't understand why Firingsquad are writing a biased review though?. That's right up there with Tartan paint, a bucket of steam and clouds in a jar :confused:.
 
It don't matter what Will's spec is, if it ain't configured properly and optimised correctly some things ain't going to perform to the max, my system is like a thoroughbred race horse, trained to be the best.;)
 
My 2900 in dirt is flawless with 4xAA 16xAF aobve 35fps all the time. The 2900xt is a cracking dx9 card however dx10 is another story :p

Fair point. It didn't seem like that at the time so my bad for taking it to heart.
 
Ok Pro at stock @ 4xAA and 4xAA 1280x1024 my avg is 28Fps
Pro @ XT speeds @ 4xAA and 4xAA 1280x1024 my avg is 33Fps

So everything is running fine in XP at least ;) Plus again remember an underpowered cpu compared to that review!
 
I can't see it being down to the shaders, if is then ATi have released a card that can not run Dx10 (well it can run it, but at crippling frame-rates), and i can't see many 2900 owners being happy about that.:eek:

I couldn't give a rats ass how X10 runs as i will never move over to that junk vista, if crysis performs crap in DX10 on a 2900 after a few driver updates then fair enough, X10 ain't it thing, as ill still be on XP, am i bovvered.:p

Are you trying to say something about me like I aint capable of configuring my rig? my rig is properly configured and Vista is also streamlined with all the crap turned off..

Vista aint junk at all, runs as fast as XP here, infact better...

SO whats your spec? I dont think mine is anywere near that of a dead dog, I worked hard to pay for my rig and then you come along and try make it sound like a piece of junk :mad:...

Will - I had posted something earlier and removed it. When Raven said that your system was a dead dog I wrote something along the lines of " Will's got a good PC. If Will's system is a dead dog then what does that make mine?. I think he means Dead dog as in configured (well that's what he said after).

He then said that if I chose a GTS then I was an easily influenced person as I wasn't too impressed by your DiRT performances. My card struggles with max settings so I would've liked a nice boost by the x2900 over the x1900 at least and that wasn't impressive but others have came forward and said they've got acceptable FPS so that's ok now. I had had a few beers earlier (pub lunch) and after looking at the Firingsquad review with DX10 I noticed the X2900's results and then had another think about getting the 2900 pro before realising that I won't be running DX10 as I don't like Vista. I'm keeping my copy for a new system after the year :o.

Funny that I made a stupid mistake then someone pounced on me for doing so. Not saying any names though RAVEN. As soon as you say something bad about the 2900's he's right there with a gun at your temple. A little like Shocky and the 8800 :p BOOYAH!.

I'm sure my system is configured and running smooth, I run crap cleaner every day, ad-aware pro every day, disk defrag every day too, I make sure its running top notch, then create a ghost image, then every 2 weeks ghost my system with the image so I'm always running tip top condition.

Well I think you should get in contact with someone that has a rig like yours on these forums that lives close by too. If someone would step forward that lives in your area to test your card in their system then that could give you the best insight.

Hmmmm, so how many people that have a Conroe at 3Ghz+ with at least 2gb of RAM and a X2900XT or 2900Pro that lives near Will and would be happy to test his card for him and invite him in for a cup of tea and a biccy? :D.

haha, I live up near york, and I dont think there is anyone on these forums apart from 1 other person who is from york, and I dont think he has a similar rig to mine.
 
Already offered my sevices Will since Im only really gonna be effected by my cpu compared to yours so up to you if you want to do a comparison at stock XT speeds :)
