Anyone else here throw controllers?

If you don't think you have a problem because you end up being reduced to throwing things and being induced into a fit of rage over a video game, then there's no helping you.

If you had a stable mental state, you wouldn't have to throw things around and break them to release your anger, you would deal with it like a normal person.

I think you will find 'frustration' and the manifestation of this as anger is relatively 'normal'

I see people regularly getting hostile in their cars borne out of frustration, I experience people bashing their trolleys through in anger at the busy supermarkets when they are 'held up'.. In both these cases, the anger is directed towards other people, which is much worse..

I'm not condoning it, I'm just saying that it's relatively 'normal' for anger to manifest when frustration kicks in.. age and source of frustration is almost irrelevant..

but then is winding up a load of 'mentaly unstable' people a good idea? :D

I see elsewhere that your keen to play GTA, what are you going to in that game, act like a normal NPC? and don't you worry about it's memetics?

Does anyone else here throw controllers? I have just thrown my PS3 controller in a fit of rage during a burnout race as I wrecked just before the finish line in a race to the wind farm. :o The controller is not broken but I can hear stuff rattling inside. I need more self control :)
I pick up something less expensive and throw that instead :D

i did it with my 360 pad
its duct taped together and doesnt rumble properly anymore
but i still use it
must be sentimental

why don't you all just keep some bubblewrap or stress balls next to your console so you can destress without the need to destroy expensive controllers???

Forgive me for missing it amongst all the bickering (:p), but I'm surprised that there's no comment about all Wii owners throwing their remotes in this thread! :D

Because Wii owners aren't pathetic enough to take games that seriously. They throw controllers by accident rather than in hissy fits.

I'm guilty of this - I didn't remember to put the strap on and I got too enthusiastic with the Wii bowling - flung the controller and broke one of the picture frames in the room. >.<

Just remembered doing it playing Wario Ware. Hot summer, sweaty 4-player action, Samurai stance.

YOINK! Wiimote hits telly, back comes off, batteries fly out.

All good after.

Ive hit many things with the wii remote, not letting go of the controller just waving my arms all over the place (tennis).

Wario Ware is easily the worst game for it I find, worse than Sports. However, a mate of mine manage to pull the nunchuck out of the Wiimote playing boxing against me. Little git beat me too!

Don't worry, I stupidly e-brake turned on the last corner of a race and ended up in a horrible mess.

I was so far ahead I had time to recover, but I remember feeling like a complete idiot and wanting to throw the controller..

Lucky I didn't, would have caused some damage :o

never thrown a controller, since consoles come onto market many years ago, why would you want to throw a controller and possibly break it?. Maybe people that do shouldn't be playing video games is all i can say, after all its only a game :p
