Anyone else save Pennies?

The armrest in my car is often full of coppers.

The great thing is TESCO self service machines accept 1p and 2p coins so I save them up and buy donuts when at work without a care in the world for how long the next man will have to wait for me to finish inputting 50-100 copper coins.

Donuts, serious business.

Ahaha!

Self service ftl, im to lazy :(

I just whack all change I have in a tin. Rarely take stuff out except when desperate. Doesn't build up loads though as I do most of my transactions with my debit card.

I'm at college and luckily live near a herron store, forever getting copper change, i just throw it away usually becuase its a fuss carrying it about. Should save it really, would get quite abit in a couple of months.

I put all my 1s and 2s in a box on a shelf in my room. 5s upwards I keep in my back pocket, but I generally try and minimise the amount of cash I spend and use plastic wherever possible, really.

I have a few times that I keep 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p collections as well as 3 lion pound coins. I have to keep all my £2 coins for my Mum but in turn she saves the 3 lions for me... we've never worked out if it works out fair but who cares :)

Hmm looking back, I probably look like a right cheapskate putting in all coppers every other day :o

I use a couple of Pringles tubes as they're pretty sturdy and have lids to them, it's just a whole lot easier than carrying the change about plus once every few months I've got enough cash to treat myself to a couple of DVDs or whatever. If I didn't chuck spare coins into there I'd only end up wasting it on something useless.

I also use pringles tubes, all sour cream green tubes, must have about 6 of them now all full to the brim with 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p coins, reminds me to get counting them soon :)

I've got one of those camper van money pots full up with 1p to 20p coins. No idea how much there is though. Might get a weeks worth of shopping out of it :)

I don't carry anything less than 50p pieces on me, so aye, I have a huge pot full of change.
20p pieces are okay value to weight ratio, I 'save' 1, 2, 5 and 10 pence coins. Carrier bag in a box... however after around three years the bag's full and no chance it can be moved in the bag, it must weigh over 5kg.

my money box has compartments for

1p's 2p's 5p's 10p's and 20p's. If it is a 50p or a pound or a 2pound it goes in my wallet as they are useful coins for pints or chocolate and crisps.

I saved up all mine in a glass jar came to about 19k! Decided I would give it to someone in need as it was money I would never miss due to being saving over a year.

I keep mine, why throw them away? It's you're money at the end of the day.

I handed in about £70 worth the other day in 1's 2's and 5p coins.

So hey.
